Steven D. Hunt, 37, of Lewiston, left, talks with police and fire officials after he crashed his car while driving down Mechanics Row in Auburn on Tuesday morning. He said the right front tire of the 1993 Toyota went flat and sent him off the road and into a light post. Damage to the car was $4,000 and it was towed; damage to the light post, $600. Hunt was shaken but refused medical treatment.
