I don't usually get my news from the "Daily Show," but in this case it seems to me that it picked up something that the newspapers have missed.
Fox News, in its coverage of the Manhattan mosque, implied that the man promoting the mosque is linked to terrorism by a Saudi man who has been supporting him. Fox News neglected to mention that the same Saudi — Prince Alwaleed bin Talal — is part owner of Fox News' parent company.
Shouldn't somebody tell the viewers of Fox (who are unlikely to watch the "Daily Show") that they are being misled?
And if that isn't the role of the newspapers, whose could it be?

My God! Who cares about this BS. Arguing about a muslim community center in New York City? Really? How about arguing about our burning economy, or, oh I don't know, something a little more pressing and important to our country. People need to grow up and stop fighting over all of this measly garbage. I tell you what, when we fix everything els thats wrong with this country then we can re-visit this issue and see if it's as important as we all once thought.

Oh my God! The terrorist plot goes further then I thought.
Nice try Dave but what Jon Stewart and the Daily Show was pointing out is that Fox News is hypocritical for saying that the mosque is funded by a person who is supposedly also funding terrorist hence trying to make it sound like the mosque is somehow linked to terrorist somehow from guilt by association. Yet Fox News doesn't say who he is or that he is also linked to the very businesses you mentioned because it would prove that there would be no reason to fear the New York City Mosque.
So the Daily show was saying is if Fox News says that the Mosque is linked to terrorist because this Prince therefore the mosque is bad then in Fox News logic (I know the oxymorons isn't it) If this Prince is part owner on Fox News then Fox News is helping terrorist.

No I was not agreeing with you. What you were implying through John Stewart's report from the Daily Show that Fox should be condemned for reporting what it should have reported. I am certainly not implying that the transaction between the imham and the Price was a good thing and neither was Fox. Fox was doing its job of reporting the affiliation. Stewart's only purpose in his report was to try and damage Fox by reporting the Prince's 7% ownership in Fox(ie: they are affiliated to a terrorist supporter). Another attempt at dragging Fox by hashing over old news. Lets face it folks. Fox is kicking ass out there and your beloved MSM isn't liking it. Their viewership is way down in the tank and their only means of fighting back is to dig up old worn out news. The Prince will never sell off his 7% in Fox because he is making money off of Fox's success.

He owns the second largest voting block of Newscorp stock, but that's peanuts? How many billions is 7%? AND - he gives quite a bit of money to Feisal Abdul Rauf, the scary Imam behind the Cordoba House - one of his biggest financial supporters. I guess the only difference is one is a terrorist organization, and the other wants to build a Muslim community center on private property.

Karen's letter may perhaps insinuate that Fox is not a shill for its investors. In perspective, If Fox is telling people to eat 3 Big Macs a day because it will make you thin, and Karen does an Exposé and finds out that McDonald's is an investor in the network, I guess her LTTE would make more sense.

Thanks, Mr. Gagnon, for mentioning the subject. Ted Turner, well-known anti-Semite, is the largest stock-holder in the parent company of CNN. If Ms. Lane implied that Ted was behind the anti-Israel tirades regularly broadcast on that unbiased and meticulously truthful "news" channel, then we would have a juicy story.
Regarding the letter's ending question. Are you suggesting that newspapers should actually practice .. gasp! .. journalism? It would be nice, but don't hold your breath.

He has also made large investments, large meaning more than 7%, in AOL, Apple Inc., MCI Inc., Motorola, and other technology and media companies. He has a voice in these companies because of his larger than 7% piece of the pie. He has made investments in London's Savoy Hotel and Monaco's Monte Carlo Grand Hotel. He currently holds a 10% stake in Euro Disney SCA, the company that owns, manages and maintains Disneyland Paris in Marne-la-Vallee, France. And he also owns 14.9% of City Bank. Hope you don't have a City Bank credit card. That's just like all the folks who like to feed Hugo Chavez money coffers by purchasing CITCO gas. So in the end, if your purchasing any products or services from any of the above mentioned companies, your feeding into the Princes wealth that he uses to support terrorism. Oh, one more thing, this is the same dude that on October 2001, following the World Trade Center attacks, New York mayor Rudy Giuliani turned down a $10 million donation from.
