New poll shows Mitchell and LePage in statistical dead-heat

The results from today’s Critical Insights poll are showing Democrat Libby Mitchell running even with GOP Paul LePage, a significant change from previous polls giving the Waterville mayor a double-digit lead.

Also noteworthy are demographic crosstabs showing LePage polling strong in the 18- to 34-year old demographic, while Mitchell leads with Franco-American voters.

My darkest wish

I want Le Page to win, so that all the ignorant people who vote for him and are collecting Mainecare benefits, will lose their good healthcare coverage. I suppose, LePage would like everyone to have some time- homeless - on the streets- just like he did. Maybe those people who can't find work and their house is being taken over by a local bank in foreclosure are just hanging out with their hands out. LePage wants to cut everyone off, like he was. And he won't be afraid to tell you to go to blazes. Moreover, he want those rich people, who don't pay their taxes honestly, to get big fat tax cuts so they can have two homes - one in FLA and one in ME.

Yeah I am a democrat but I am tired of seeing Mainers votes against their best interest - which is the best interest of the working class and working poor for these rich robber barrons of today!

To Truth in Facts - you're exactly right! I know of some ignorant people who work for the school department that will vote for Lepage who wants to cut the eduction/school budget. So, they will vote themselves right out of a job! Then they'll have to show up at Welfare to help support their kids, and that will be gone too. Good for them! I'm so sick of these stupid people too. You can't argue with them, they're closed minded, they don't watch any debates and have no clue that they're voting themselves out of a job. Why do they bother to vote is my question. They don't bother to keep informed, they only listen to their Republican buddies and they spread BS all over the e-mails. Snopes clears up everything that they have sent me. It's all a bunch of BS and they believe every word. I'm not one who collects anything so it doesn't matter to me. I vote for the man I agree with, and this year it is NOT LePage. I'm hoping they do vote themselves out of work. Good for them!

tide has turned

So, as Maine voters learn more about Lepage, his numbers are dropping like a rock. Wasn't he up just a couple of weeks ago?

Let the Repub Denial and Teeth Gnashing Begin!

Those poor, poor Republicans. They demonize honest government in favor of handouts for the wealthy, or flat out communism for the wealthy, and prop up ignorant buffoons like LeBovine. Now, apparently because a poll that wasn't skewed by a well known Republican push polling outfit named Rasmusson shows LeBovine having lost a lot of ground to his sane, experienced and honest opponent Libby Mitchell, suddenly the goons, freaks and loons of the far right are lobbing the contents of their living rooms on the front lawn in frustration. Well now, isn't reality a downer for you Repugs?! Go ahead and light that furniture sitting on your lawns on fire, perhaps LeBovine will fly down like SuperRepug to the rescue! There's a difference between your far right fantasies and reality, and hopefully when LeBovine is merely a bad odor lingering at the empty polling places, you Repugs will find the nearest mirror and ask yourself why you are so irrational. If you want to know what's wrong with America, it's a one word answer: Republicans.

Have an unrelated question for you Voisine; something I've been wondering about for quite awhile in reading your posts and keep forgetting to ask about. I notice that you often times have multiple posts in succession each one with it's own title and usually each one paragraph. I know that sometimes the system goes crazy and will duplicate posts but these are each unique so it isn't a system error. Why is it that you don't put them together in one single post?

maybe

if Poisine's posts were even longer, they would be even more boring. if that's possible. never mind....

How do you "disagree" with a post that asks a question a on how to post or why posting is done a certain way? What is there to agree or disagree with? To those who hit the disagree button, care to explain what you disagree with and perhaps shed some light on the issue?

It Wasn't A Rasmussen Push Poll! Surprise! Surprise!

Did y'all see the new poll that isn't "Rasmussen"? That means it wasn't a typical Republican push poll designed to suppress Democratic voter turnout by getting people to believe the false narrative that the Repug is ahead. So this poll shows Libby ahead of LeBovine by 1 percentage point. Maybe there actually aren't enough ignorant buffoons in Maine to elect such an unqualified knuckle-dragger as LeBovine. Generally speaking I kept wondering if there really were enough unemployed, high school dropout loggers on welfare in Maine to really put LeBovine over the top. Guess maybe not!

Polling for Hire

Critical Insights is a company that, according to their site "guarantee our clients that all telephone-based interviewing is done on-site and under professional conditions by researchers who are trained and skilled in the art of interview procedures and accurate data capture." In other words, they are for hire and are skilled in conducting polls so as to get their clients what they want. Hmmm, wonder who their client was for this poll? Could it have been Libby Mitchell??

Curious, with so many of us

Curious, with so many of us these days not having landlines and cellphones not being listed, how accurate are these polls with such a large population excluded from the random draw that is supposed to produce a representation? Maybe Peeves can find out for us.

gdls1's picture

I'm wondering...

Is your use of "Peeves" for Patty Reaves and honest mistake or is it an act of passive aggression?

the more relavent statistic from the poll, is that

don't know is apprently in a tie with Mitchell and lepage. Despite all the crowing done by the LePage camp, this race is going down to the wire. We have yet to see Lepage spend any money on TV ads, and that might make the difference.
