At about 7:25 p.m., police responded to a call that an armed robbery had occurred at the pharmacy on Union Street Bypass, according to a release issued by Deputy Chief Jason Moen on Wednesday.

"A white male, 5-foot, 8-inches (tall) and weighing approximately 170 pounds wearing a white shirt, tan ball cap and blue jeans walked into the store and approached the front counter," the release stated. "The suspect gave the clerk a note demanding money and then displayed a handgun that was tucked into the waist of his pants."

The suspect fled the store with a small amount of cash. The robbery is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Auburn police Detective Barry Schmieks at 333-6651, extension 2068.

OMG... looks like Paul Lepage but can't be sure...

On second thought maybe not, Sir Paul would have his wife do the dirty deed, not him. That way he has plausible deniability. Sarcasm, and satire seem to be okay according to Patti and SJ. They use it so can I.

Why are these photos from

Why are these photos from security cameras always such bad quality? Also, they usually have them up high so they take the top of someone's head or hat and you can't see their face anyway. You'd think with all the technology available, they would have something better for security cameras by now and put them at a different angle, so you could actually see someone's face walking in the door and not the tops of their hats.

I betcha..

..this fellow hails from the Dirty Lew... I told you all they would spread! There really needs to be a locked gate on each bridge. A weapons/seatbelt checkpoint would do wonders for keeping Auburn clean and tidy.

OMG. I hardly ever go to

OMG. I hardly ever go to this Rite-Aid because it always looks like it's closed, even when it's not. I don't know if the entrance and parking lot lights are too dim, or what, but it feels a little creepy after dusk. Maybe the owners or managers should address this issue.

GET HIM

Good Luck and get him. There is no excuse possible for such behavior.

get a job

Hey loser want money ? get a JOB like the rest of us...... earn your own way. I am so sick and tired of the low- lifes of the Lewiston Auburn communities. A whole generation of welfare receiptants, drug users and abuser, babymommas and ganster wanna bes. I think that Lewiston and Auburn need to clean up their act as they are the two most disgusting towns in this state. I feel badly for the hard working, respectable people of these communities having these low-lifes continuing to live among them

how about

All the pharmacies hire an ARMED guard to stand right at the pharmacy counter. problem solved.. I highly doubt these dumb fools would try to rob a pharmacy when there is someone standing right there with a loaded gun who isnt afraid to use it.

A profoundly BAD idea! These

A profoundly BAD idea! These companies are not going to hire the best qualified persons, nor will they be trained sufficiently. DOn't beleive me? Just look at the average guard from some of the local security companies. I would not feel all that safe with most of them being armed. Look, NOTHING is worth trying to face down someone who has flashed a gun or knife. Just give him/her what he/she wants, and call the police when the crook leaves. At least you will be going home at the end of your shift, instead of to the morgue.

are you willing to pay more for your meds?

a guard will cost $$. that will be passed on to you.

...and innocent bystanders

...and innocent bystanders could be hurt or killed. Of course, those who want the armed guard don't care about that.

Dontbotherasking's picture

point taken but

how much do you think its costing the pharmacies every time they are robbed? either way its costing someone something. and what about the employees I think they deserve some protection. I cant imagine working behind a pharmacy counter and some dirtbag comes in with a gun in and wants drugs and money. I think they deserve some protection. if it means paying more for medications sure why not, atleast I would know that 1. people are being protected and 2. these scumbags arent taking something that is not theirs so they can sell it on the street or abuse it themselves. Like i said in my first post it would solve the problem. But I guess the pharmacies enjoy being robbed all the time since I dont see them doing anything to stop it.

...not much compared to the

...not much compared to the salary/benefits of an armed guard.

I totally know this guy!

Well probably not, most likely not, definitely not... But it's kinda hard to tell when the pic is so small. Is it possible to post larger pics in situations like this so we can actually see the perp?

Photos

Hi there Eyeroll,
We have another photo we will put up there. These are the photos the police give us from the store's video cameras. I think they give us the best images they have available to them. Just a little background and FYI.
