Look what they have done

I have listened to the Democrats demonizing members of the tea party as crazies and nuts more and more as Election Day approaches. Why are they trying so hard to discredit those who oppose the liberal Obama movement?

I believe it is because liberals believe they are right and others are wrong, and they will not give an inch. They cannot understand the thinking of people who want a smaller government, less government control and lower taxes.

The liberal Democrats are ruining this country and it's time to bring a halt to their out-of-control spending.

If this country becomes bankrupt, the liberals will have done what they planned all along and it will be easy for them to take over completely and make this a socialist country.

Just look what the Democrats have done to Maine. This once proud, independent state is now one of the poorest states in the nation and more than 70 percent of its citizens are receiving government assistance. A socialist state.

Residents need to vote the Democrats out and bring Maine back to its former glory, one that has been lost by the Democrats' control of the past 40 years.

It's simple: Democrats spend and raise taxes; Republicans lower taxes and create jobs.

If people want the state to support them and control their lives, vote Democrat.

If people want a job, lower taxes and the government out of their lives, vote Republican.

And Hay Guess what I am For a woman's right to chose fancy that, Furthermore I am also for gay marriage (HUM) Ya Imagine that!!! One does not have to embrace the party's Stance wholeheartedly it's not an all or nothing kind of thing. SHHH don't tell anyone, But you don't have to blindly Follow!! Again Shhh it's a secret. Dems In Maine have Over taxed, Over regulated, Over Legislated for far to long!!! Get them out of the house out of the Senate and for goods sake OUT OF THE BLAINE HOUSE!!! DIRAGO ANYONE!!!! Bankrupt the state but some 8th grade drop out with 5 kids and works 20 hours a week at (Insert deadend job here) does not have to worry about healthcare!!! But the Commercial Fisherman, The building contractor, the Department manager, The office manager Can't afford the things their Family needs because their hard work is so over taxed to provide for those who can't or refuse to provide for themselves!! We're the only country in world to do 'Health Care' as we do

So you can thank the 'Insurance Industry' for that, Ben.

If the 'Insurance Industry' thought there was a way they could soak the poor and the welfare case - they'de do it. But they can't. So you're 'Fair Game'

And you know what?? You probably put up with it as you don't believe Govt should be involved with your 'Health Care' - Well, hit 65 and they will be. But till then, we're pissing away 30% of what we spend on 'Health Care' in the country on the Insurance Industry - which has only one purpose - to make a profit.

And want to know something else? Our longevity rate in the U.S. isn't nearly as good as most European countries nor Canada where they do have government health care - nor is our infant mortality rate as low as those countries.

But the insurance companies love you every time you send those inflated premiums in.

A buddy I know retired off the Police Department with is paying $1,550/mo to keep his 'City' health insurance for he and his wife. I also retired from the Navy Reserves; so I get to tell the 'Insurance' Co. to piss up a rope. What a grand feeling!!!

Okay So if you went to a

Okay So if you went to a restaurant and your bill was calculated not by what you ordered But by your income level would you like that!! It's not insurance companies fault, most are now run as non-profits, It's health care as a whole and Obama Care does not change that!!Do 3 Stitches at the emergency room really cost $1000 dollars or did my insurance company just pay for the thousand stitches it gave away for free (To the poor). Does an MRI really cost $13000 dollars or again is the Hospital over billing it's PAYING customers so it can give away free services to those who can't pay!! Obama care increases the ACTUAL cost of Medicine by adding a Federal agency to oversee health care, and implement ObamaCare.
Obama misunderstood Americans where upset that they had to chose between health care and other family expenses, Making health care MANDATORY is not what we meant!!! In a country where the government can control the price of milk why can't it make health care affordable, 3 stitches $80 bucks MRI $200 Smackers Birth of your child $1000 Big ones!! So when your sitting in that Restaurant and your like WOW looks like everyone is eating for free tonight!!! Nice, then you get the bill, with a gasp!! Sir you are the wealthiest man in the room so you are paying for everyone tonight!! It's the new American Way!!

The Truth About the Insurance Industry

By Ezra Klein | June 24, 2009; 6:29 PM ET

"Insurers often complain that their critics don't understand their business practices. It would be hard to say that about Wendell Potter. Potter, whose name sounds like that of a character in a Frank Capra movie, worked in the health insurance industry for more than 20 years. He rose to be a senior executive at Cigna. He was on their calls, at their board meetings, in their books. And today, at a hearing before Sen. Jay Rockefeller's Commerce Committee, he testified against them.

What drove Potter from the health insurance business was, well, the health insurance business. The industry, Potter says, is driven by "two key figures: earnings per share and the medical-loss ratio, or medical-benefit ratio, as the industry now terms it. That is the ratio between what the company actually pays out in claims and what it has left over to cover sales, marketing, underwriting and other administrative expenses and, of course, profits."

Think about that term for a moment: The industry literally has a term for how much money it "loses" paying for health care.

The best way to drive down "medical-loss," explains Potter, is to stop insuring unhealthy people. You won't, after all, have to spend very much of a healthy person's dollar on medical care because he or she won't need much medical care. And the insurance industry accomplishes this through two main policies. "One is policy rescission," says Potter. "They look carefully to see if a sick policyholder may have omitted a minor illness, a pre-existing condition, when applying for coverage, and then they use that as justification to cancel the policy, even if the enrollee has never missed a premium payment."

And don't be fooled: rescission is important to the business model. Last week, at a hearing before the House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation, Rep. Bart Stupak, the committee chairman, asked three insurance industry executives if they would commit to ending rescission except in cases of intentional fraud. "No," they each said.

Potter also emphasized the practice known as "purging." This is where insurers rid themselves of unprofitable accounts by slapping them with "intentionally unrealistic rate increases." One famous example came when Cigna decided to drive the Entertainment Industry Group Insurance Trust in California and New Jersey off of its books. It hit them with a rate increase that would have left some family plans costing more than $44,000 a year, and it gave them three months to come up with the cash.

The issue isn't that insurance companies are evil. It's that they need to be profitable. They have a fiduciary responsibility to maximize profit for shareholders. And as Potter explains, he's watched an insurer's stock price fall by more than 20 percent in a single day because the first-quarter medical-loss ratio had increased from 77.9 percent to 79.4 percent.

The reason we generally like markets is that the profit incentive spurs useful innovations. But in some markets, that's not the case. We don't allow a bustling market in heroin, for instance, because we don't want a lot of innovation in heroin creation, packaging and advertising. Are we really sure we want a bustling market in how to cleverly revoke the insurance of people who prove to be sickly?

If you'd like to read Potter's testimony in full, I've uploaded it Potter Commerce Committee written testimony - 20090624- FINAL.pdf."

BenHarrison's picture

No you misunderstood it's not

No you misunderstood it's not JUST the Insurance companies IN THE WHOLE SYSTEM!!!! And Obamacare does not fix the problem it just creates a whole new set with the government getting their grubby little hands on more of your money, and maybe just maybe if you get sick they will take care of you!! When Has the Federal Government of the United States of America done anything in the most efficient and cost effective way!! Ever One example people please just one!! Exactly!!! So now we can add government waste and mismanagement to the already long list of reason Health care in America is so expensive!! Great job Dems!!

Why 'Isn't Health Care Affordable?"

Because in the United States, it's run as a "For Profit" rather than a "For Service" entity as it is in all of the other civilized countries in the world.

That's it in a nutshell....... And until you demand 'Healthcare' as a Right rather than a product, that's the way it's going to continue.

citygirl's picture

so veritas you think it would

so veritas you think it would be best to live in a world that the goverment tells you what you can have treated and what you cannot? ever been to Canada and asked them? I know a Doctor that moved from there, his child was sick and needed surgery, he had to pay for it out of pocket, the other choice was to let his child suffer until he got off the waiting list. You really think thats better? Wait till you, your mother, father or child needs that operation in president hussien's health care bill. I will stand on the sidewalk and laugh at you and SHOUT TOLD YOU SO!

veritas's picture

Yes -

Governments are much more responsive to voters than are Insurance Companies to 'Rate-Payers'

I've talked to a great many Canadians - including Doctors - and they're quite happy with what they have. Most people around the world are; it's simply that the Insurance Lobby has Americans propagandized into thinking that it's a 'Wasteland' out there.

By the way - between my 'Retired Military' health care and VA, I essentially am on 'Government Health Care' - and it's much better and less expensive than when I was privately insured.

citygirl's picture

I agree that there has to be

I agree that there has to be some insurance control. The hospitals and Doctors are charging to much and driving up the cost of private health insurance, right now the insurance companies are telling us what we should do about our health-but know this, the SECOND the goverment takes over a waiting line will form. You will be able to walk into an emergency room and if are dying that second, you will be treated as cheaply as possible. If you are not dying within that second you will wait much longer than anyone should have to. You may have goverment insurance now-but as a vetran you deserve that insurance, and because you earned it fighting for this country it should be great insurance. Widespread though is not a good answer.

veritas's picture

There will always be a 'Waiting Line' and 'Triage'

Folks are using 'Emergency Rooms' as their 'Primary Providers' now as there are two few available clinics to meet our needs. So there are already lines. Think it's bad here?? I used to work in a town that that had a real welfare population and ghetto. We used to get calls down to the hospitals to break up fights in the E/R's... BTDT, citygirl. I was a cop in a town the size of 'Disgusta' - and the year I retired, we had 22 homicides - hell, all of Maine had 16 that year. So I've got some idea of how the systems can get abused, etc....

citygirl's picture

you are right about one

you are right about one thing, they use the system inappropriatly as primary care providers. Do you know why? Cause there are no repcussions for thier actions. Because there are so many people on welfare it outweighs the working class and therefore we cannot pay. The lines are nothing like they will be, nothing. And as someone who has done a service to our country and then someone who was a police officer are you seriously going to say that something is not wrong with baldacci and his crack alley plans? What you want a make career out of having children? well this maine, be my guest. You are a recovering heroine addict? well dont ever work..tear..we want you at home thinking about being clean. That my friend is where the system went soooo terribly wrong.

veritas's picture
verified

citygirl - you are wrong on your "Why"

A hospital cannot turn a patient away as a Doctor's office can; and many practioners limit the number of Medicaid patients that they see, as the Federal Govt is seriously underfunding repayment.

Most 'Welfare" mothers that I knew didn't really make a career out of having as many children as they could. Lot more factors to it than that, and folks have made careers and written thick volumes on what goes into it. No simple answers. There's a hell of a lot easier ways to make a buck than be saddled with screaming brats you really didn't want in the first place. I got into police work almost forty years ago because I was a raving conservative wanting to clean that mess up - Lord, was I ever in for an education. Work it, live it, breathe it - and when you really get to know many of the people and their hearts, it's not at all what one's initial impressions are.

Republican cut taxes, raise spending, and create more debt..

If you want to be more accurate, Mary.....

Voisine's picture

Let's see ... according to RepubliCONS when Bill Clinton left a surplus, that was because it was actually the Republican Congress that did it from 1995 until 2000. When George W. Bush was the President during 911, it was Clinton's fault, and it certainly wasn't the fault of the Repulican Congress from 1995 right until 911!

Reagan was supposedly a "great" President according to Republicans, even though he took Carter's surplus and turned it into a SEA of red ink! However, that's not his fault ... it was the fault of the Democratic Congress!

When George H.W. Bush walked out of Afghanistan after the Soviets left, it was a good move, said Republicans. When the Taliban came to power it was the fault of Democrats.

When Bill Clinton launched a missile strike to Kill Bin Laden in Afghanistan, Republicans got on the floor of Congress and angrily said it was all a ploy to deflect attention from the Lewinski affair.

When 911 happened, Republicans blamed Bill Clinton for not trying to kill Bin Laden.

Then when the economy nearly skidded off a cliff, that wasn't due to Bush, who was President, it was Democrats at fault ... who only took over Congress in 2006.

Again, Republicans prove that truth is situational, they have no integrity, no ability to analize, no affinity for process, they're thugs, they mislead. Basically, Republicans are the very worst that America has to offer.

Republicans: we let Democrats clean up the messes we create!

candiceanne's picture

I guess I will repeat the

I guess I will repeat the civics lesson at least one more time. The Congress makes the laws and sets spending. During the Clinton years, 1993-2001, Democrats controlled both houses from 93-95, from 95-2001 it was all Republican. Therefore any surplus that came out of the administration has to be credited to the Republicans since Congress who control the purse strings was made up of a majority of Republicans. That shoots that long held Democrat fanatsy out of the water.

Next Missile. The duty of the President is to be the Chief Operating Officer or Administrator of the country. He is "The Buck Stops Here Guy" as an excellent former president put it. Even kept the sign on his desk. (trivia for those with curiosity, who had this on the desk of the Oval Office and made the saying famous?) The terrorists who highjacked the planes used in the 9/11 attacks entered the United States during Bill Clinton's Presidentcy, failed to exit when they were supposed to, organized their terrorist cell under the watchful or not so watchful eye of his administration, his administration failed to track them down and deport them when they did not leave when they where supposed to and we all no the rest of the story.

At the same time George W Bush got elected president the balance in Congress went wonkie (see previous listing of distribution of seats) which produced a very ineffectual Congress and leaving strong administrator dangling.

If there is any remaining doubt after examining the interplay of the parties in Congress and the Presidency over the past sixty years, there is simply not arguing with the disasterous consequences of a Congress with both houses with a heavy Democrat majority and a Democrat for a President. Mexico is starting to look better than the United States, definitely better than Maine which you might as well say has had 40 years of Democrats running it all.

As far as I can tell,

As far as I can tell, Democrats raise spending and raise taxes, while Republicans raise spending and cut taxes, putting the problems off for the next generation. Vote independent.

candiceanne's picture

The Democrats fear if they don't keep us busy we might see

Democrats have to constantly be attacking Republicans. They have to look for anything and everything they can find and get the most mileage out of it even when they know it isn't true. They have to always be on the attack because if people stopped and looked at the realities of what has gone on in this state and in this country for the last 60 years under Democrat control there is no way a Democrat could get elected.

Most of you have read this under other LTTEs and articles but, I will post it all again for those who have not.

The Blaine House has been occupied by a Democrat for 32 of the past 40 years.
James B. Longley was a lifelong Democrat. http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/topics/James_B._Longley http://www.ask.com/wiki/James_B._Longley?qsrc=3044 He switched to independent because he missed the filing date to run as a democrat for governor. So if you had him as an Independent or a Republican, put Longley back in your Democrat column.

Angus King was also a life long Democrat http://www.bowdoin.edu/faculty/a/aking3/ http://www.kosmix.com/topic/Angus_King http://www.pbs.org/now/politics/king.html. He started his political career as a legislative assistant to Democratic Senator William D Hathaway. So put King back in your Democrat column if you had him as an Indpendent or Republican.

That means just one person has been in the Blaine House in the past 40 years who was not a Democrat and that was John McKernan for 8 years. 40-8 leaves 32 years of Democrat rule. Add to that the fact we haven't seen anything but Democrat control in either house of the legislature in more years than that and you have no one to blame but the Democrats for the state of the State. Fibby Michell has been neck deep in it for 35 years.

Ronald Reagan was President from 1981-1989
First 2 years 1981-1983 the Senate was comprised of 46 democrats, 53 republicans, and 1 independent. The House was comprised of 242 democrats, 191 republicans, and 1 independent. The houses of Congress were split with the democrats having a huge majority in the House of Representatives. The Republicans most definitely were not going to get their agenda through.

Second 2 years 1983-1985 the Senate was comprised of 46 democrats and 54 republicans. The House was comprised of 269 democrats and 166 republicans. Again, Republicans are powerless to get anything through Congress.

Third 2 years1985-1987 the Senate was comprised of 47 democrats and 53 republicans. The House was comprised of 253 democrats and 182 republicans. Still the republicans are powerless despite having a republican as president to move anything.

Fourth 2 years 1987-1989 the Senate was comprised of 55 democrats and 45 republicans. The House was comprised of 260 democrats and 175 republicans. Republican President Ronald Reagan finds himself not only with a House of Representatives that is a vast majority of Democrats, now the Senate is also a significant majority of Democrats.

What you saw coming out of Washington during the Reagan years was the product of a Congress dominated by Democrats. Remember in our form of government, the President is the administrator, the Congress dictates the laws and sets the spending.
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0774721.html

George Bush was President from 1989-1993
First 2 years 1989-1991 the Senate was comprised of 55 democrats and 45 republicans. The House was comprised of 260 democrats and 175 republicans. Both houses of Congress are decidedly Democrat. There is no way any Republican item never mind a Republican agenda is getting passed.

Second 2 years 1991-1993 the Senate was comprised of 56 democrats and 44 republicans. The House was comprised of 267 democrats and 167 republicans. Again, Republicans are powerless to get anything through Congress. Both houses continue to move to even more extreme Democrat majority. The Democrats control all legislation and all spending.
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0774721.html

George W Bush was President from 2001-2009
The first 2 years that George W Bush was in Office 2001-2003 the Senate was split 50 democrats to 50 republicans and the House was 212 democrats to 221 republicans and 2 independents. Definitely no easy going.

The second 2 years that George W Bush was in office 2003-2005 there were 48 democrats, 51 republicans, and 1 independent in the Senate basically still a draw. In the House there were 205 democrats, 229 republicans and 1 independents. Still not an easy task by any definition.

The third 2 years that George W Bush was in office 2005-2007 there were 44 democrats, 55 republicans, and 1 independents in the Senate. In the House 202 democrats, 231 republicans, and 1 independent. A little easier but still not a giveaway.

The fourth 2 years that George W Bush was in office 2007-2009 went decidedly badly with 49 democrats, 49 republicans, and 2 independents democrats who change party) in the Senate and 233 democrats, 198 republicans, and 0 independents in the House. With nothing good going to get done.

Now Barak Hussein Obama-D is President with Senate comprised of 57 democrats, 41 republicans, 2 independents, and 2 vacant and House of 256 democrats, 178 republicans, 0 independents and 1 vacant. The Democrats have a landslide majority and we are getting nothing but our worst nightmares out of Washington.

OKAY Boys and Girls Here is

OKAY Boys and Girls Here is the Reality. Anyone who knows anything about the American Economy Knows It DOES NOT MATTER IF THE ECONOMY IS GOOD OR BAD!!! The American Economy is all about consumer confidence (LIKE SANTA CLAUSE) If you "believe" it's good then it is good, If we "Believe" it's bad then it is bad!!! That is why the Republicans during the Presidential Campaign continually Stated "THE Economy is fundamentally sound". It was not until Candidate Obama convinced U.S. that the sky was falling that the Economy CRASHED!!! He undermined Consumer Confidence we all stopped spending and the recession began!! It's just that simple!!! But He got elected and that's all he and the Democrats cared about. Grabbing power to further their socialist agenda!! Republicans want to give the power to the people, Democrats want to take the power from the people and give it to the government!! I guess some people like that!! Some people want a government that provides for them what they need!! I for one provide for myself!! I have a friend who's wife bosses him around, tells him what to wear, what to eat, how to act, it's ridiculous. I could never live that way and he couldn't live another.

Tax Cuts Don't Create Jobs

Mamie, if "tax cuts" create jobs, then America should be awash in jobs after all of Bush's tax cuts for the wealthiest of Americans. President Obama actually decreased tax cuts for the middle class. A sea of red ink created by irresponsible tax cuts that are little more than tax kickbacks for wealthy Reopublican contributors is nothign more than communism for the wealthy, the specialty of Republicans.

Also Mamie, if "tax cuts" created jobs, then why did Bush's approach to fiscal policy in general lead to the greatest bank collapse since the Great Depression. Oh.... that's right, it's Obama's fault even though Bush was President at the time... that's RepubliCON thinking at its finest.

Let's fix the blame where it should be..Barney Frank +Fanny mae- Freddie Mac..Ring any bells? The Dems were having a heyday and Bush was ineffective. Bush spent way more than any other Republican would have or had..I was not a big fan of Bush jr. Bey you never hear a democrat say that about another Democrat..They have a cult like allegience to their party..At least most of the Republicans I know can think for themselves..
I did not agree with the war Bush promoted..
I did not agree with his spending
But he was 100% better than what we are going thru now..Obama is a socialist and from the silence of the democrats, they are agreeing with his socialistic movement.
I prefer my freedom and adhere to the constitution. I would like to see a congress that at least has read it!
Tax cuts and less regulation does create jobs, even if you claim they do not. The truth is the truth!

back it up

"Tax cuts and less regulation does create jobs" Okay, then it should be easy for you to provide some solid information. Got any links to legitimate sources? Maybe you should switch to decaffeinated tea.

The Only "Message"...

The only "message" that electing LeBovine will send is that enough ignorant people turned out to vote for a buffoon to actually get him "elected." Are there really enough high school dropout unemployed loggers on welfare in Maine to put LeBovine over the top? It'll be a sad day when the LePigNuts have to stride from their tar paper shacks to remove the LeBovine sign in their front yard ... in defeat ... as usual, their life story and a reason why they're Republican. It is the party of anti-logic, freaks and loons. How appropriate as the leaves turn though, it is Halloween on October 31. What better nightmare than to dwell upon the spectre of a dishonest creep who couldn't find his way around a budget anymore than he could locate a rational argument actually playing the role of "governor." Well, we had Reagan who disgraced the office with his cluelessness, so what's another ignorant RepubliCON in office, hah?

they are nuts

Look at the Oxford educated she-witch in Delaware who would've joined the Hare Krishnas if they allowed eating meat. Did you know she has the top secret plans China is using to take over the USA? Or that there are mice running around with fully functioning human brains?

This is very typical of the way Democrats try to demonize a political opponent. This woman made an off the cuff remark about something she did when she was SEVENTEEN! And they are using this to try to discredit her ...years and years later! Same old story with the Dems!

You must be a democrat..you

You must be a democrat..you sound mad as heck because the truth hurts! And they are losing all across the country..

The Democrats are scared!

All across the country, the democrats are being booted out of office. So they are now doing what they are famous for..demonizing those that disagree with them..If you don't like Obama and his policies, you are a racist, if you don't agree with them or are running against them, you are a witch, a nut or someone to be considered a nutcase. A crazy. (Believe me, I have been attacked repeatedly for my views for the last fifteen years..I even had to change my phone number four times! ) I have never gotten into personalities or attacked anyone personally for their political views. I have never called anyone on the phone to scream obscenities at them. Democrats have done this to me repeatedly. That is what they are known for..They are gifted at acts of personal destruction.

If you've had to change your TX# four times....

No doubt you've really gone over the edge.

I wouldn't troll for sympathy, nor bragg.

One party

always demonizing the other and has since our government was founded. Most of those we put in office enjoy the repartee of the opposing side, much as attornies on opposite sides of a case. They demonize each other in the court room, but are the best of friends outside the court room.. Same thing in Augusta and Washington.

Perhaps at the State level - no longer at the Federal

A friend of mine was once on the staff for Rep. Tip O'Neill, former Speaker of the House. He told me that though the Reps would fight and argue like hell during the day, there was a collegial fellowship after hours in which they would get together and share drinks and stories. Much positive 'business' occured during these social get-togethers.

Unfortunately - this is no longer the case, and hasn't been for quite some time.

I've found that on the State level that a level of this personableness still exists in the small window that I've seen.

Tax cuts create jobs. But

Tax cuts create jobs. But this will never happen here in Maine because everyone is on welfare and wants the free handouts from the government!

Tax cuts create deficits, Employers create jobs.

And most of the Employers that used to be in Maine sent the jobs down south or overseas.

bs

Tax cuts do NOT create jobs in America, they just make it easier for the well off to invest in overseas jobs. Look at Dubya's two massive tax cuts for the wealthy. How was his job creation record? His last month in office, what did we lose ? 800,000 jobs?

what if's picture

I strongly disagree

that EVERY one in Maine is on welfare and looking for a handout. Most of the people I know work hard and support families. Those of us who love our state will gladly wave goodbye to you on your way south.

Maine Welfare

SEVENTY percent of Mainers are receiving some type of government assistence..The ones that work are supporting them!

veritas's picture

And most who receive assistance have paid for it

Through taxes, social security, medicare, and military service.

But your reason for failing to mention that, Mary Jane? Some special agenda you have???

tron's picture

Actually Mary, the overwhelming majority of those

receiving assistance in Maine are people who work. They are employed in places, such as Marden's, who encourage their employees to seek public assistance to supplement their income, so the companies can keep more profits for themselves.

WideStanceRepublican's picture

So much stupid, so little time

First off the Tea Party is just the nutzoid fringe of the Republican Party.

Second - Republicans kill jobs and then ship them overseas. All market expansions in this country have occurred while a Democrat was president. Remember Bill Clinton? He left office with a budget surplus.

The stock market does better under Democrats than Republicans:
http://money.cnn.com/2004/01/21/markets/election_demsvreps/index.htm

Sherrod Brown sums it up best:
History tells us that rage on the Right should not be confused with populism. The far right attacks government regulation as it feeds Wall Street and the insurance companies. It rails against government spending for the least privileged as it lavishes tax cuts favoring the most privileged.
We already know the damage that comes from the right's rage. During President Clinton's eight years, our country added more than 22 million private sector jobs, incomes went up, and we enjoyed the largest budget surplus in U.S. history.
In the following eight years of the Bush bastards, only 1 million jobs were added, incomes stagnated or plummeted for most Americans, and we were left with record budget deficits. Yet Republican candidates in 2010 are offering the same faux populism and "solutions" of the Bush years: more tax cuts for the rich, deregulation of special interests, and trade agreements that cost us millions of manufacturing jobs. And in places like my state of Ohio, they are even offering up as candidates the
same people who got us into this mess.

Mary Jane - remove your head from wherever it is stuck, stop watching faux news and use teh google to learn the truth. Republicans are nothing but organized thugs.

When Bill Clinton left

When Bill Clinton left office, the Republicans had been in charge of Congress for four years..Bill Clinton was ineffective his last four years and took credit for what the REPUBLICANS did during that time!
