JAY — An adult and two juveniles were charged Tuesday night in connection with a break-in at Otis Ventures LLC mill complex, police Chief Larry White Sr. said. A fourth juvenile also faces charges, he said.

Jay Detective Richard Caton arrested Eric M. Frost, 18, of Livermore Falls on felony charges of aggravated criminal mischief, burglary and theft, White said.

Frost was released on $3,000 unsecured bail from the Franklin County jail on Tuesday, according to an arrest log. He is scheduled to appear on Dec. 17 in Franklin County Superior Court.

A conviction on each of the charges is punishable by up to five years in prison.

Two 14-year-old boys, also of Livermore Falls, were each issued a summons on charges of aggravated criminal mischief, burglary and theft, White said.

They all cooperated once they were confronted, he said.

White said Jay police responded to a call of a forced entry into the former Otis Mill at about 10 p.m. Sunday. Suspects drove around in motorized carts and damaged two of them, White said previously. They also broke windows, kicked in doors, and stole the VCR from the security camera system, he said.

A Maine State Police dive team recovered the VCR, which records all the videos for the security camera, in the Androscoggin River on Monday, White said. Jay police also collected DNA, and a shoe print that matched a suspect, he said. Among other items recovered were video cameras, a video tape and a portable radio that were taken from the mill.

“Detective Caton did an outstanding job with an extensive investigation,” White said. He was assisted by officer Russell Adams and White.
