Worked across party lines

I am proud to support Michael Michaud for Congress. He has shown dedication and integrity in representing the people of the Second Congressional District.

Personally, Michaud and his staff have been receptive to our concerns on issues and have always taken the time to explain where he stands on the issue and why.

He focuses on the bigger picture of how a particular bill will affect his constituents and Maine as a whole.

He has consistently worked across party lines for many causes, including the great work done on behalf of veterans.

Of equal importance, he is not afraid to stand up for what he feels is right, even if that means being out of step with party leadership. For instance, he voted against the Wall Street bailout.

Mike Michaud has a proven track record of serving all Mainers well and will continue to do so.

Vote Against Communism for the Wealthy, Dump Republicans

Democrats are against shipping American jobs overseas and handing American prosperity to just 2% of its population while undercutting aspects of America, like Social Security, that have made this a strong country with a quality standard of living. Since I'm against tearing America apart to benefit the wealthy only, as Republicans wish to do, I do indeed claim stellar character ... as least more than what Republicans may claim based on their "beliefs," that's for sure.

If Republicans would have had their way America would have never recovered from the Great Depression (the origional stimulus), had a middle class (they were against every initiative that CREATED the middle class, from Unions to the GI Bill), or enjoyed an intrastructure that allowed us to become an industrial model for the world (think jobs corps programs that helped create our infrastructure, which produced prosperity, which in turn would have NEVER happened if Republicans had their way).

Republicans merely wanted to keep the status quo of the Gilded Age: Wealthy control. Everyone else can follow. That's it.

Vote against communism for the wealthy, vote Democratic.

Republicans Deliver!

Momof4 (still can't figure out ... is that your job title??),

What you don't grasp is that when Republicans win, YOU lose. That you can't grasp that makes you an irrational Republican. People like you are what makes America so much less than it could be.

Unlike Ignorant Republicans, Democrats Actually Solve Problems

Isn't it interesting that when you make statements here that flares the synapses of Republicans, they screech for "facts" and "evidence." When you offer facts and evidence to back up your assertions, suddenly Republicans are screeching that it was from blogs (how many Drudge Report cites do Republicans here offer?? Oh, that's different!!), or it's just "cut and paste." Typical worthless Republicans, your responses demonstrate precisely why Republicans are such a plague upon American and can only create problems, not solve them! You simply aren't capable of accepting responsibility for your failures or thinking critically. It is one among many reasons that you are sad, worthless Republicans instead of productive members of society: Democrats.

Republicans Can't Deal With Reality for a Reason

A case in point is that many of the Republicas here tried to blame the sub-prime market collapse on Democrats. How could that be when Republicans controlled the banking committee and repeatedly stopped Frank and Dodd from actually reforming that market before it collapsed. Or how about Republicans posting here that it was the Democrats that created the massive deficits, when in points of fact the majority of bailouts were caused by Bush's unwillingness to regulate Wall Street and actually set up under the Bush administration.

The ignorance of both process and factual analysis by Republicans plays out here day-after-day. Republican: What? Hah?

Voisine's picture

Republicans Beholden to a FETISH, NOT Reality

Clearly when ignorant Republicans can't refute FACTS, as I offered above, they try to smear. It is predictable that when they can't act as an adult and offer actual facts to refute REALITY, they merely pull a Joe Wilson and yell "you lie!" Daily, the irrational "facts" offered here by Republicans present a picture of individuals who not only don't understand basic civics, but are willing to grasp at any straw in order to avoid blame for the enormous failures of their fetish party.

Democrats Are Fixing Republican FAILURES!

Republicans are bitterly complaining about joblessness under the Obama administration even though the Democrats and the White House helped to create more private sector jobs than Bush did in EIGHT YEARS

http://www.bobcesca.com/blog-archives/2010/10/heres_some_job.html

Republicans have stated that Democrats increased the deficit, when the fact is that the Obama administration and Democrats cut the deficit by $122 BILLION after the Bush budget of 2009!

http://www.bobcesca.com/blog-archives/2010/10/president_democ.html

President Obama’s reduction of the deficit by $122 BILLION is the largest one year reducation of the federal deficit ever!

http://www.capitalgainsandgames.com/blog/stan-collender/1986/pop-cork-bi...

Republicans tried to characterize the stimulus as a failure even though it created AT LEAST 1.4 million new jobs!

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE67N55X20100824

Republicans are saying Obama raised taxes, when the Obama administration passed the largest middle class tax cut in American history

http://mydd.com/2010/4/14/the-stimulus-was-the-biggest-middle-class-tax-...

An informed American electorate doesn’t elect Republicans. Period.

There goes Visine....King cut

There goes Visine....King cut and paste. So far, I've seen this same ridiculous post in three different places. Anyway, from what I can see, the only reputable source you cite is reuters. Save us the time as your posts are only about as original as those shoe selling spammers that get on from time to time. Try going away, watching some different news sources, (here's where you accuse me of watching Fox...I don't)...but rub a couple of brain cells together and see what you come up with.

Get out of here with that

Get out of here with that Punch and Judy documentation. You would get flunked in any respectable university for trying to pass off your conclusions while attempting to use these citations as credible sources. Blogs? Please...Plus, nice cut and paste job and using it in other posts this morning. Paid blogger for the Dems perhaps? It's over Voisine...your Democrats are done come Tuesday. Nobody is buying the snake oil your selling...Get used to it.

Voisine, you need to go back

Voisine, you need to go back to school and retake civics. It is congress that votes not once but twice on everything involving spending. First they vote the authorizationbill then they vote appropriations bill. The "power of the purse" rests very firmly in the very tight grip of Congress. Richard Nixon even tried to rein in spending using impoundment and Democrat controlled Congress responded with the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Acto of 1974 which requires the president notify congress of impoundments which must be released by the end of the fiscal year or within 45 days! So the President can not even reduce excesses with impoundments since 1974. I know your next argument is going to be but the President sends Congress the budget. Yes he does but what he sends has no resemblence to what comes out after it is messed with by all the committees, just pick a year and compare the before and after if you don't believe me. If you would like to learn more on Public Policy and Finance USM has a program.

Out of step with party

Out of step with party leadership? Michaud votes Pelosi 96% of the time! How is that willing to vote out of step with party leadership? The man might as well be Pelosi's lapdog, which would probably be his answer to the question, what would you want to be if you came back as an animal. Other's have written he should mail in his votes and save the travel and other expenses of his time in Washington; I would suggest going a step further, just give Pelosi a proxy and save the cost of typing, paper and postage. I'd vote for just about anyone that ran against Michaud based his record alone.

Michaud's "Blue Dog"

Michaud's "Blue Dog" bi-partisan affirmation is the biggest lie of this man's Congressional career. He voted 96% with Nancy Pelosi...this man is no "Blue Dog." And let's be careful about lauding the man for his vote on the Wall Street bailout. He was in FAVOR of that legislation but opposed it because the restrictions on business weren't tough enough. So, Mike is in favor of not only a government takeover of health care, energy, and individual liberty, he is also in favor of a government run economy...which, in a word, is socialism. Sure he has a commendable record on veteran's issue, which I appreciate as a veteran. But the rest of this man's record supports imposing the government's will over mine...and yours. You should think about that.
