AUBURN — A pedestrian was injured when struck by a car on Longley Memorial Bridge shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The identities of the pedestrian and the driver were not available, and calls to the Auburn Police Department for information were not returned as of midnight.
The accident occurred on the Auburn side of the bridge in the Lewiston-bound lanes. First responders reported the pedestrian was unconscious but breathing. The person was taken away by ambulance.
The car's windshield was completely cracked and pushed into the passenger compartment.
An Auburn Fire Department truck, two ambulances and at least three Auburn Police Department cruisers responded to the scene.
