PARIS — Selectmen will discuss a proposed revision of the town's curfew ordinance and an advertisement for a Land Use Study Committee on Monday.
The revised ordinance would remove a curfew exemption for minors in motor vehicles, so that minors driving could be fined as minors walking in the street can.
The old ordinance also requires police take minors in violation to the police station before calling their parents or legal guardians, but the proposed revision only requires officers to contact parents or guardians.
The curfew ordinance was last amended in 1994, according to the town of Paris website.
Town Manager Phil Tarr and Planning Board Chairman Robert Kirchherr will present an advertisement for the town's Land Use Study Committee.
The committee comes after almost three out of four Paris voters favored development of a land use ordinance in a nonbinding question on the Nov. 2 ballot. The ordinance would shape town growth to be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2007.
Selectmen and Planning Board members are looking for Paris residents to serve on the committee representing residential and rental property owners, people living in the historic district, and the agricultural and business communities.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Town Office.
