OXFORD — Selectmen voted to accept $5,000 in donations to two town charitable accounts.
On the Monday before Thanksgiving, Black Bear Entertainment announced $40,000 in donations to local organizations, including $4,000 to Keep Oxford Warm and $1,000 to the town's holiday food account.
Town Manager Michael Chammings said the town received 35 requests for Thanksgiving food bundles. He said the town was able to fill all of them with help from Walmart, which donated frozen turkeys.
The Oxford Board of Selectmen will next meet on Dec. 16.

The investors
in the casino have been supportive of the Oxford Hills area for many years and this is by no means a bribe but an example of their concern and generosity for the folks there.
