The American way

I read a story recently about the death of a young soldier in Afghanistan. He wanted to become a policeman when he was discharged from the Army. He had a young wife and a little boy.

That man gave his life so others can be free; so they can do their own thing — mess around with drugs and booze, get young girls pregnant so more babies can be killed.

What a contrast — one man dies to keep men free, other men just live for fun times. Too bad that no one here forces everyone to work. Even murderers are set free.

All those innocent babies, citizens of the USA, murdered, and the Supreme Court approved it, for it is a woman’s right over her body.

I say this, if you don’t want a child, which is a gift from God, then don’t play with fire. That goes for both men and women.

I read the newspaper about what goes on here in Maine — a fellow stabs his girlfriend, another man rapes a woman in a parking lot, and much more.

Let’s go back to the way of life when men and women believed in God and worked hard; no booze, no gambling or wacky tobacco. And children grew up to become honest, decent citizens. Let’s make America proud again.

I fear it is too late. The train to destruction is going full speed down a very steep hill.

Heidi Weber, Dryden

I agree with Heidi

It used to be that serving our country meant that we were serving and sacrificing for good, and it meant something. Too many people take avantage of the sacrifice that our Armed Services have provided for them.

Today, a soldier might serve for 20 years, and the ideals and beliefs he signed up to defend may be much different in 20 years.

I still marvel at the liberal's stand that it is OK to murder innocent unborn children and yet protest when a man dies in combat to protect their right to support abortion.

Remember, no matter what you believe, you only have that right to believe it while we have a constitution and soldiers to defend it.

Heidi, who are you to try and

Heidi, who are you to try and force your beliefs on everyone else?

fatandhappy's picture

Tell me RReady? Where did

Tell me RReady? Where did Heidi "force" her beliefs on anyone? Seems to me she just "Voiced" her beliefs, which she has a right to.

RReady15's picture

Maybe "forcing" beliefs was

Maybe "forcing" beliefs was too harsh. The tone of the letter does seem like she thinks she holds the moral high ground. Not everyone drinks the godly koolaid. The church cannot brainwash everyone into being a god fearing, vice avoiding, pleasure dodging "upstanding American" any more.

Yes. Murder(of people, not abortions), rape, drug and alcohol abuse is dirty business. I agree. A few deviants do not mean the world is doomed to your percieved godlessness.

fatandhappy's picture

I don not have "percieved godlessness"

It is very much real.

As far as your statement: "Not everyone drinks the godly koolaid". The "Godless" will be begging for koolaid in hell.

Luke 16, 22-24...." 22And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame"

I say this all the time on here about the Bible. You dont have to believe if you don't want to....but just because you don't believe it doesn't mean it isn't real.

I have found that most of the time, the people that oppose the Bible are consumed by some lifestyle that the Bible condemns so they hate it for selfish reasons. I do pray for those people that they won't give up eternity for something they believe is so important here on Earth.

I'd say that train is right on schedule...

"... There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God... (Paul writing to Timothy c. AD 66)

God Loves Money

What can I say, God loves the rich(duh)
"A feast is made for laughter, wine makes life merry, and money is the answer for everything."
Ecclesiastes 10:19

Pre birth abortions = bad
Post birth abortions = awesome
"Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction, happy is the one who repays you according to what you have done to us. Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks. "
Psalm 137:9

Drunk and Fat is no way to go through life...
"If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. They shall say to the elders, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.” Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid. "
Deuteronomy 21:18-21

The next couple, well I may violate the posting policy cause the Bible is vulgar sometimes:
Judges 3:19-24
Samuel 18:25-27

And the WAAAYYYY inappropriate winner :
Ezekial 23:19-20

Why did I post these? Cause one, some of them are pretty funny.
Two- Anyone who take the Bible as some sort of literal word of God needs to see that either its not or God is kinda weirdly inappropriate, which would be pretty cool.

Just post

that you hate God and Christians...it is obvious

It also says...

...in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires...

Which do you think is better?
A. To believe the Bible.
B. NOT believe the Bible and be wrong?

If there is no God, then why are so many prayers answered?

Get a grip, Lady, and study history....

Where and when was that, Heidi? It has to be in your imagination, or perhaps 'Disneyland, - because that certainly wasn't the way life really was.

"Believed in God?" More feared HIM than anything, because that is how the various Churches controlled their flocks and the confessionals were always filled on Saturday nights. Favors and indulgences could be 'bought.' No booze? What world are you thinking of?? Whiskey Rebellion, Bathtub gin, Speakeasies, and every workingman's tavern offering a 'Free' lunch. No Gambling" Every old lady knew how to get her 'Number' or place her bet with the bookie in town... Bingo, card games - you name it. And don't think there weren't drugs - until 1903 that bottle of Coca-Cola contained 60mg of cocaine.... And there was always a source for something.

We've always been on 'your' train of destruction - and it hasn't derailed yet.

Oh NOES!!!1!

The rain to destruction has left the station....whoo whoo!

Listen crazy lady, just because you don't agree with the advancement of society doesn't mean we are on the path to destruction.

And while I don't agree with abortion, trying to tie it in with the death of a soldier cheapens the sacrifice of the soldier. So buzz off.
