Maine Congressional reps vote for DREAM Act

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — With a Senate vote pending, Maine's two congressional representatives are on record as voting to pass the so-called Dream Act, which would give hundreds of thousands of foreign-born youngsters brought to the U.S. illegally a shot at legal status.

Democratic Reps. Chellie Pingree and Mike Michaud joined 214 other House members Wednesday to pass the bill, while 198 voted against it. President Barack Obama wants the Senate to approve it so he can sign it into law.

Supporters point to a Congressional Budget Office report that says enacting the bill would reduce deficits by about $1.4 billion over the 2011-2020 period.

Huh... who'da thunk it...

No mention whatsoever in the paper that the plug was pulled on the "Dream Act?" You can bet your last hard earned tax dollar this rag would have been crowing from the rooftops had it passed. I'm just surprised they didn't publish something bashing "those naughty Republicans" for shooting it down.

It's interesting that

It's interesting that something that represents a nightmare for American taxpayers has been labeled the "Dream Act." Of course, the name was concocted by none other than Whorehouse Harry Reid. I defy anyone to prove to me that he isn't Alfred E. Neuman's third son.

I'd like to know

how giving Pell grants or paychecks to illegal aliens is going to reduce the deficit. I'd also like to know why my tax dollars, American citizen tax dollars, are going to be spent either sending illegals to school or paying for them to serve in service positions.
It is my understanding that after completing 2 years of service or school, they will get their citizenship. What this amounts to is paying illegals who, (whether or not it's their fault,) are in violation of immigration laws.
Where do I sign up to get paid for breaking the law???
