LISBON — No injuries were reported but a car was demolished in a rear-end crash on Route 196 late Thursday afternoon.
Sgt. Harry Moore identified the drivers as David Wescott, 56, of Lewiston and William Henderson, 62, of Bath.
Moore said both vehicles were traveling east and Wescott had stopped to make a left turn into a yard across from Pine Knoll landscaping. Henderson, who was traveling behind him, turned to look at the business's light display and his vehicle slammed into the rear of Wescott’s van.
E.T. Smith Hose Co. was called to cut battery cables and clean up fluids, Moore said.
Damage to Wescott’s 2005 Dodge Caravan was estimated at $2,500 and Henderson’s 2001 Nissan was demolished in the 5:20 p.m. crash.
No charges were filed.
