LEWISTON, Maine (AP) - Activist groups in Maine say they have up to 40,000 written messages supporting President Obama's health care reform proposals.
The groups planned to deliver the letters to the members of the state's congressional delegation Wednesday, urging them to support Obama's proposals. They planned to hold a news conference at 3 p.m. in front of Rep. Mike Michaud's office in Lewiston.
Groups organizing the letter campaign are Organizing for America, Maine Change that Works, AFSCME and the Maine People's Alliance.
