Stop cyber-bullying

Cyber-bullying is a big problem for teens. I think cyber-bullying is making schools an unsafe place for some kids because they do not want to go and get bullied.

According to the ABC News report “Going After Cyber-bullies,” about 42 percent of all kids have experienced cyber-bullying. People might not think that is a big deal, but I think it is because that is almost half the nation’s children.

According to the article “The Rise of Cyber-Bullying,” in 2006, one out of every eight young people say that cyber-bullying is worse then physical bullying. When someone is physically bullying someone, it may cause pain for a little while; but when someone posts something online, it might stay there forever.

We should put a stop to cyber-bullying by trying to put a lot more security on all  social networking sites. Even though they already have some, there should be more.

Everyone who gets cyber-bullied or who has gotten cyber-bullied in the past should let someone know so that teachers, parents or even school counselors can put a stop to cyber-bullying right away so it doesn’t go any further. People need to know how dangerous cyber-bullying can be.

how about the parents keeping track

of where and what their children do on the internet istead of letting them have facebook and myspace pages under their own names with fabricted ages and addresses. I have key loggers on all of the computers that my kids use in my home and can check every place they have been and all the people they've talked to. Nothing is safe from me and they all know it.
I check every day and they know it. I do the same thing with their cell phones, every call or text is logged and if I want to see it, I can.
Parents need to take responsibility for what their kids are doing.
Kelsie, I commend you for daring to stand up and say something in a public forum since you're only in middle school. The fact remains that bullying, either in the cyber world or the real world, will continue until people stand up against the bullies and expose them for what they are, Cowards who take pleasure in tormenting those that they see as unwilling to make a stand for themselves.
Geeks, nerds, goths, weirdos, fags, gays, fatties, skinnies, and everyone else who gets picked on for whatever the reason need to join forces and stand up to those who pick on them. All for one and one for all, as the 3 Musketeers would say. A united front is a strong front. Be brave.
