Every day lately there has been a newspaper article concerning the issues about the Labor Department mural. It's becoming extremely annoying to a point that it needs to be put to rest once and for all.
The people of the state of Maine don't seem to realize how it makes us look to other states, especially with all the problems facing us, that a need to prioritize issues of significant importance has become inevitable under present circumstances.
Lack of intimate knowledge of governmental issues has become one of the governor's major downfalls. However, it's a must that he proves to the people who elected him that he's capable of doing the job expected of him and avoid getting distracted or threatened by non-governmental issues.
In addition, he must increase his level of diplomacy and stop acting more like a dictator. People are already resenting some of his public comments and if he's looking to be re-elected for a second term, adjustments to his personality are necessary. He should do himself a favor by taking said advice seriously before it's too late.
He must remember that he is not the first governor to have inherited surmountable and problematic issues.

No adjustments are needed
Gov. LePage is who he is and nobody has the right to change how he thinks or speaks. The man, like everyone of us, has freewill to be the person he chooses and asking someone th change their personality is wrong. I accept who he is and how he speaks. I've heard some who did not vote for him belittling his speech and grammar and making references to his heritage and background. These people were supposedly of higher intelligence. Yeah, right. Someone once said, "You can't teach common sense." For decades common sense was absent in Augusta and we are now paying for the mistakes of those transgressions, including the contracting of this labor mural that we as residents of this state were never asked whether it should be put up in the first place, nor were many of us aware it even existed. And though it's true he is not the first governor to inherit the problems we have faced all along, the fact is these problems have been compounded by wasteful and entitlement programs for years. No one else before LePage had the guts to take them on out of fear of losing votes. LePage has the guts to do so. Let the man do his job.

I found it amusing that the "murals" were painted by an artist, who is not from Maine. The person in Portland who defended Gov LePages decision is a native floridian. The murals were really dark and not even accurate. The Gov was right to remove them, but really for the wrong reaons. All art is very reliant on symbolism, we have laborers from our community who's ingenuity literally changed the world. Some were part of unions, some were not. The murals mostly, represented brief and painfull part of our History. They certainly DO NOT represent a complete view of Maine's labor history.
