Store robbed, suspect caught

AUBURN — Police late Thursday were questioning a suspect and scouring the area along the Androscoggin River after the Big Apple on Main Street was reported robbed.

The stick-up was reported at about 11:40 p.m. Police began searching the area in and around Bonney Park and within minutes, located a potential suspect near the river.

By early Tuesday, investigators were still out at the scene. It was unclear whether an arrest had been made. Early reports were that a suspect walked into the store and demanded money. No weapon was shown.
