Obama seeks an end to the "political circus" in D.C.?

The best way to achieve this is for him to resign as the "Ringmaster in Chief."

You like Collins because in reality, Steve, she's a RINO and sits on the donkey side of the barn.

The only commenter in this forum (including myself) that backs his statements with facts and sources for his comments is Riml. We should all learn by his example to do a little research before we start printing crap. HAVE YOU ALL NOTICED?, I like that word-Crap, Crap, Crap!
It suits all those unsubstantiated elephant rants.

Where is it?

The letter mentions the "political circus". Everyone I know, all along the political spectrum, except for a couple die-hards here, believes that phrase is an incredibly generous summary of the situation in DC.

It then suggests that our illustrious president, who says he wants the circus to end, is really encouraging it to continue full-tilt boogie. I agree.

Where is the racism? Where is even the shadow of racism? If Breton knows, he's keeping it to himself.

The noted circus entrepreneur P. T. Barnum once said
Nobody ever lost a dollar by underestimating the taste of the American public. If he's right, and I suspect he is, Obama will retire very rich.

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

So, once oBAMa is no longer

So, once oBAMa is no longer president, (Yes Virginia, that day WILL come), any white person who says anything negative about his presidency will be a racist. Cool.

Jason Theriault's picture

No, but there is a shadow of it.

The problem is that the visceral reaction to Obama has been far more polarizing than other Democrats, like Clinton. It might be just a natural rhythm of our democracy that things get hostile, then subside. But that this upswing was timed with the election of a black president, who had to go so far as providing eyewitnesses to his birth to prove he was an American, makes it seem far less about his politics, and more about his skin color.

Mark Elliott's picture

Not a good comparison Jason,

Not a good comparison Jason, Clinton didn't screw us quite like Obama has.

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

Frankly, the man's skin color

Frankly, the man's skin color is the only thing about the man I don't abhor.

Jason Theriault's picture

You may dislike his views on Government, but do you really abhor him?
He a married father of 2 who obtained a college educations from Columbia and Harvard who has no criminal record and has lead a pretty decent life.

Just like as much as I dislike some of Boehner's politics, I give the guy mad props. Put himself through college, and he fights for what he believes in.

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

I'll concede a bit on the

I'll concede a bit on the "abhor" thing, but I see him as an unqualified, arrogant, fast talking, jive ass hoopster, who was elected president mainly because of the color of his skin. And, he'll probably be re-elected in 2012 for the same reason, and that scares the crap out of me.

Jason Theriault's picture

And this is why democrats play the racist card

"...but I see him as an unqualified, arrogant, fast talking"
So far so good. Nothing I would called racially motivated..

"jive ass hoopster"
and there it is. "jive ass". Jive is an African American dialect of American English, which the president doesn't speak. However, it is spoken by predominantly blacks.

"who was elected president mainly because of the color of his skin"
Yup, had nothing to do with a backlash from President Bush. Nothing at all. Really, the reason he won is because McCain chose Palin. Had he chosen a smart woman like Snowe, McCain might have won.

See, you think your being cute, but it's pretty obvious, that to some extent, race is part of the equation. I'm not saying that invalidates your argument, but when you combine a valid argument with comments like "jive ass", it invalidates everything.

But, also know that it's gonna be alright. Just like I told people when LePage was elected. The universe isn't going to blow up. With a divided congress, no legislation that isn't watered down to the point of being a motion approving of calendars with kittens on it will pass.

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

You disagree in a civil

You disagree in a civil manner and that is admirable, but I stand by my statement, jive ass and all. Race is part of the equation only to the extent that the president's skin is black and the democrats are getting more mileage out of that than MOBIL got out of its last Economy Run in 1949. No big deal, the man's taking the country to the gates of hell. Not to worry, I hear the winters are rather mild.

I wouldn't get too jacked up over what you think is my epiphany. The comment you're rejoicing over was penned by the parrot, who I've said many times, is a liberal. But, it's nice to see you in a happy mood.

You may have really missed

You may have really missed the point of my 10:44 post, but if it makes you feel that giddy about what you perceive to be my salvation, go for it.

Speaking of ugly heads ...

Why does Breton insist on seeing racism where none exists? It is perfectly possible to want Obama gone just because of his dangerous, reckless, hyper-expensive policies.

However, Mr. McClure, I have to disagree on one point. I prefer the election method of removing him. You see, if Obama resigns, Joe Biden becomes president and we would have the "Doddering-gaffer-bonehead in Chief."

Now, if we can persuade both of them to resign, John Boehner becomes president. Hmmmm.

Mark Elliott's picture

I've always believed Obama

I've always believed Obama chose Biden as his running mate to serve as his "insurance policy"! We be going from the pan to the fire if Joe took over!

 's picture

Explain it then.

You have said it's racist now twice, without a shred of evidence. Show us one word or phrase that's racist and explain why.

Yeah, I bet that tan leather muppet called Boehner would bring civility back.

Nope, the only way to bring civility back would most likely be getting rid of either the senate of the house so that one party had both chambers.

I, on the other hand, don't want civility. I do want compromise, but the best way to get pork out is when they have to fight tooth and nail to get something passed.

AL PELLETIER's picture

Cry Baby

OMG, a cry baby as our president. Hmmmm.

 's picture

You're right.

Every time anyone criticizes him, he starts crying "I inherited this mess."

Wait. I bet you were talking about Boehner. Sorry, easy mistake. I would prefer a president with some passion for his country over an automaton who can't say "Good evening" without a teleprompter.

 's picture

There he goes again.

It's pretty obvious how I feel. Not so the fuzzy-faced clerk. He never states his own opinions, just recycles long-winded pieces turned up by his "research". Riml's purpose in life is to belittle others, and it's obvious he believes in his mission.

RONALD RIML's picture

You belittle yourself

with your own words of ignorance, FrostProof.

I merely provide the evidence to refute your errors - of which there certainly are no shortage of.

RONALD RIML's picture

You're obviously not aware of his unscripted debate with the House Republican Leadership Committee at the Baltimore Retreat in January of '10 - well over an hour long. President Obama Full Q&A

You've been hoist on your own propaganda way too long there, FrostProof. You're believing it.

Who the hell needs a teleprompter at a Q&A?? They ask the questions and he answers cue cards needed there.

RONALD RIML's picture

That's the point.

He doesn't need a 'Teleprompter' as many allege.

Now to the 2nd point. Did you watch it??

Joe Morin's picture

Oh Dan!(take 15)

Dan rears his ugly head, AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN. This post wasn't very powerful, I agree. This is an example of an analogy Dan. He is comparing Washington D.C. to the circus. Since the Pres. is the leader of our govt./D.C. he is comparing the presidential postion to that of Ringmaster. I feel that Mr. McClure insinuates that the president as leader of our government has contributed to current climate in Washington and if he truly wanted to change that climate in a positive manner he would resign to expedite the process.... Now after giving this article a multi-angled look I still don't see racism. I see you throwing around very strong accusations that aren't meant to be used lightly because it is not a light issue. When you do the "pin the tail on the donkey" routine you remind us that you have no credibility. You also minimize true acts of racism and water down the meaning of the word... Your like the teens that drop "F-Bombs" all the time and still expect it to carry emphasis.

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

Do you think they're

Do you think they're complicit in the racist conspiracy, T?

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

Now that you mention it,

Now that you mention it, there have been some changes in the tone of certain editorials, and, as you state, different from the past. It doesn't really matter to me one way or the other. I get most of my information from CNN and MSNBC, so that keeps me pretty well informed. You know how it is with pirates; we go for the best.

Joe Morin's picture

you are right

They got rid of the approve & disapprove! There aren't enough people that agreed with you on anything that it started to get embarrasing.

Mark Elliott's picture

"You guys rarely read my

"You guys rarely read my posts, you just use your FOX News rebuttal, even if it doesn't fit the topic." and you think racism fit this topic??

Joe Morin's picture

And furthermore...

If Dan thinks that people take a "Fox News" position and that it is a bad thing because it is a right winged news outlet then the same would hold true swinging the pendulum the other way...only fair right? So, this comment only holds merit because Dan is moderate in his views... yah, right.

Joe Morin's picture

Oh Dan! (take16)

I don't watch Fox news & you are no moderate

Joe Morin's picture

You sound like a little kid, Dan. At this moment Im thinking you are either being honest when you say that you are moderate which means you are delusional or you think people are too stupid to know your lying.

Joe Morin's picture

Oh Dan, Oh Dan

Really? That's it? I'm stupid... I'm dissapointed in you Dan.Go sit in the corner and think about what you've done.

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

With all due respect,

With all due respect, T...moderate is a term used by liberals who do not wish to out themselves from the liberal 'closet'.

Joe Morin's picture

Your consistent ad hominem attacks are the antithesis of critical thinking. We don't take you serious because you don't conduct yourself in a serious manner. You get tangled with because you're easy pickings. If you had an informed argument like jason or the wit of Riml you'd be better off.
