AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — A 35-year-old Maine man is going to prison for 10 years for sexually assaulting a 3-year-old boy in the child's home.
Troy Tibbetts, of Pittston, pleaded guilty in June to gross sexual assault in Vassalboro between November 2008 and the end of 2009.
He was sentenced Friday in Kennebec County Superior Court. The Kennebec Journal reported that the sentence was enhanced because of a law that increases penalties for people convicted of sexually assaulting children younger than 12.
The boy's mother said her son has nightmares, wets his bed, has problems at school and can't be unsupervised around other children.

when I read this I got sick to my stomach. this violent trauma to this child leaves it so he will never be the same. the judges that sentence these people should really interview survivors of this injustice. I pray for the child.

At least this sicko got some jail time, which goes to show that a democratically appointed judge does her job. I will be a sad day when she doesn't get reappointed by taliban paul.

This pervert should have gotten more time than he did for the crime he commited. He should also be made to undergo some kind of treatment in child abuse. The same should be done to him that he done to that innocent boy.
