LEBANON, Maine (AP) — Two Maine residents are facing charges they took a vehicle for a test drive from a Lebanon car dealer and then didn't return it as promised.
Fifty-three-year-old Gregory Adkins and 50-year-old Sharon Shelton, both of Lebanon, were arrested in Keene, N.H., on Saturday, a day after they took a Chevrolet Tahoe for a test drive from M & J Auto Sales in Lebanon, and did not return.
Adkins and Shelton reportedly told police they were on their way to a "family emergency" in Charlestown.
Fosters Daily Democrat says Adkins and Shelton were arraigned on Monday on charges of receiving stolen property. They are each being held on $2,500 cash bail.

I work for a dealership and we have to go on the test drive with the customer, along with making a copy of their license before the test drive which goes to the manager before we leave for the ride. It should be mandatory though so that things like this do not happen.
