Making Maine a laughingstock

Gov. Paul LePage strikes again. This time, when asked by a national news representative about the removal of the mural from the meeting room in the DOT building, he stated that it was removed because it was paid for out of unemployment benefit funds.

That's just a lie. It came from federal funds designated for the purchase of art work to be placed in the DOT building when it was built.

LePage just keeps planting his foot in his mouth every time he speaks, and he makes the people of Maine look just as stupid as he is when he does it.

At the time of the mural being removed, he clearly stated that it was because it did not represent his view on labor. There was absolutely no mention of a funding source.

If this guy weren’t the governor, he would just be a joke to laugh at but, unfortunately, he is the governor and the citizens of Maine are being represented by him and it makes me sick to think about the laughingstock he is making of himself and us nationally

Lepage is the worst Gov. EVER!!!

I can't wait 'till we get a chance to vote for someone, ANYONE, to replace LeLoser.... All he has done is what HE wants. That whole mural thing just sickens me. I can't wait to see a picture of his sad droopy face with the word DEFEATED above or below it. I, as I'm sure a lot of you, will breathe a serious sigh of relief when he is out of office. What a sorry excuse for a "leader". More like the "school-yard bully" in my eyes.

Who was the second worst?

Who was the second worst?

Maine doesn't need LePage to

Maine doesn't need LePage to make a laughingstock of it. Electing democrats in massive numbers year after year and expecting different results takes care of that aspect of the state quite handily.

The view's the same on both sides of the fence

No question Fox News is biased. Then again, the same can be said for NBC as well. I used to watch NBC news faithfully in the days of Tom Brokaw. I thought he was terrific and their news division was first rate. And I do like Brian Williams, but the content and direction of their organization has changed over the years. There is a certain slant to it, although subtle. Fox's slant is more like a 90 degree turn. They make it obvious what their views are. Truth is, everyone has an agenda. Those who think differently are in denial.

There is nothing wrong with

There is nothing wrong with letting you know what their views are. It's when a news agency only allows one side of the story to be told is when there is a problem. Fox News, although a conservative news agency, does allow both sides of the story be told.......I can not say that for some of the liberal stations.

Hank Williams Jr. *barf*

His disturbing lunacy yesterday and ClusterFox and Friends shows the true colors of the TEA Party and roughly a third of the white electorate. Get a few beers in 'em, and their "truth" comes out -- Obama's Hitler and the enemy. (Now there's some wrap-yourself-in-a-flag patriotism for ya.)

Are you ready for some racism?

Hey Gary, didn't McConnell, Stearns and Vitter all lobby for federal funds for the clean energy sector? I think Solyndra is a debacle and an embarrassment, no doubt; but don't act like the GOP doesn't clamor for federal funds too. (See: Alaska, Ted Stevens, Sarah Palin.)

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

Williams not once connected

Williams not once connected oBAMa to his Hitler reference. You are incorrect.

KRIS KUCERA's picture

He just apologized, pathetically, for it.

Nice angle, no-eyed Pirate. You proud of his disgusting comments? Besides, Obama isn't Hitler -- he's just a Muslim Kenyan Commie, right?

http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/04/showbiz/williams-football/index.html?hpt=h...

And Williams is so thick-headed he can't understand that different ideologcal stripes can actually play golf together -- essentially do "things" (except actually legislate) together -- even though they vociferously disagree politically. He blasts partisanship by being insanely partisan and profoundly crude and uneducated. Not a whole lot of logic in the Williams -- or TEA Party -- camp.

Are you ready for some denial?

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

Let's see now, I'm a no-eyed

Let's see now, I'm a no-eyed Pirate, Obama's a Muslim Kenyan Commie, (actually he's a socialist Marxist), Williams is thick headed, profoundly crude and educated (never mind that he could buy and sell your sorry ass at a flea market). You go off on a rant of absolute drivel and I'm supposed to take you seriously enough to respond? Grow a brain, little man. Go bother someone else.

KRIS KUCERA's picture

Uh-oh, she's angry . . .

So if I can be bought and sold, that's your idea of right and wrong? Defending Williams? Figures.

Hey, it takes two to tango, Cap'n Cranky. Maybe take a Pamprin, take a nap in your cabin, and blog me in the morning.

As Sgt. Hulka said in "Stripes": Lighten up, Francis.

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

Not defending Williams at

Not defending Williams at all. He stirred the pot, he has to deal with it. But, he did not refer to oBAMa has Hitler. That was my point. Other than that, I'll have what you're having.

KRIS KUCERA's picture

It's called a "simile" (Bueller? Bueller? . . . )

I can't believe you're taking this fallacious, semantic, embarrassing tack. Williams: "Obama is like Hitler"; therefore, "logically," Obama is Hitler. No?!? Did you see the interview? Williams was/is a caveman, for goodness sake. As they'd say on MNF, "Come on, man!" (Let me guess: Rush's McNabb's comments weren't racist either?)

As for what I'm having, it ain't strong enough to numb the pain of knowing so many of my white brethren think like you and Williams Jr. Obama a Kenyan Marxist? Or is the the anti-Christ? You can tell me, honest.

And for the record, I'll take his dad's old-timey music any day to Jr.'s mindless turd juice. I hope to never have him proceed another MNF game again. And I betcha ESPN pulls the plug on him for good, which -- wait a minute . . . -- will make ESPN another cog in Obama's Grand Conspiracy! *gasp*

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

If you'll take the time to

If you'll take the time to calm down and stop raving, I'll tell you what Williams said. I heard the whole interview. If you can't control yourself, you'll just have to figure it out.

KRIS KUCERA's picture

I watched the interview, jaw agape.

It was disgusting, as Williams is to look at. The fact that you sit here and try to deflect the sickening reality of his interview is instructive, disturbingly so. Even the Fox clowns were visibly uncomfortable.

Don't you see that calling Obama a Kenyan is racist? If his dad was from Italy, would he be an Italian? He's a mixed race natural citizen of the U.S., which you and millions of whites can't, nay, won't accept. Yet here I am [urinating] into the wind trying to have a quasi-reasonable argument with you.

No more, not tonight. My enchiladas verde in the oven are far more important.

Joe Morin's picture

Man...

Kris go to the corner and give yourself 30 lashes with a wet noodle...for being white. Hank is a fool. You also are a fool for using him as a symbol of the prevailing caucasian mindset. Also, relax. Anything you actively look for you will find. If you drive down the road looking for yellow houses then yellow houses you will find. If you actively live your life looking to be offended then offended you will be. Fact is that you have been offended and have used a wide stroke of the brush to characterize a certain segment of the population, all of whom are individuals and are not responsible for said comments.

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

You won't get a

You won't get a "quasi-reasonable argument" with me, because I learned a long time ago that reasoning with a liberal is like trying to pick up a turd by the clean end. I don't give a crap if oBAMa is a Kenyan or an Onion, he's a lousy president and he's taking this country down the toilet.

Joe Morin's picture

Pirate, didn't you know??

That because you're white and conservative that you're supposed to shut your mouth and move aside while progressive idealogues takes us off the path that has made us the country we are and down the often walked path of socialism. Where in the world does socialism, communism, marxism or any other eutopian pipe dream create a higher standard of living??? Or more freedom??? or creativity??? or self-determination??? I'm so sick of P.C. attention distracting from the true issues. When did we become a bunch of sissys??? What is this France?

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

Believe it. There is only one

Believe it. There is only one way to deal with so much anger...WALK THE PLANK!!!!! AARRGHH!!!

GARY SAVARD's picture

Dan, you're right of course.

Dan, you're right of course. Brian Williams and the rest of the liberal media aren't playing mind games, they're being honest, un-biased reporters. This Country is being robbed to death by Obama and his Chicago sidekicks, and liberals like you are either are too blind or just plain too naive to see it. Why didn't Williams ask Lepage what his thoughts were on the SOLYNDRA debacle and Barry O's photo- op session at their HQ shortly before they went down the tubes with over half a billion dollars of taxpayer money. More money than Maine and 34 other states got in "stimulus" money? The reason is, he isn't a news person, he's a front man for his liberal leaning organization.

MICHAEL LEBLANC's picture

It is sad ...

... when a national "news" representative starts a brief interview of a governor of a backwater state with a calculated "gotcha" question that has nothing to do with the occasion. Edward R. Murrow is spinning in his grave.

Maine was turned into a laughingstock long ago by well-spoken, "serious" Democrats in their determination to make welfare, unemployment, and expensive everything the "way life should be".

It is sad that he 'represents' this state. Maybe the voters of this state will pay more attention next time, and not let buffoons run, much less win.
