Everyone knows that big oil companies are deceiving the American people on the price of gas and heating oil. Everyone knows that big oil companies own the politicians; that is why nothing is ever done about it.
As of Sept. 27, people from the Rumford-Mexico area were buying gas for $3.27 per gallon, while people in the Lewiston-Auburn area were paying $3.60 or more per gallon. Are the local distributors deceiving the public, too?

Oil prices
The oil costs are down to what they were a year ago when gas was $1.00 cheaper. Rich just keep sticking it to us and getting richer. If it wasn't for Rick Breau in Rumford going the extra step to lower the gas prices here all the other fuel suppliers in the Rumford area would still be holding their prices up. Rumford used to be an area where gas and oil cost more then most were paying. Now we are paying less and still getting ripped off by the oil fat cats.

And we all know that those big oil companies BP, EXXON, etc. are such good citizens that they deserve those big tax breaks plus subsidies that out government gives them so that they won't rip us off and pollute us even more.

C'mon, Lawrence, these local distributors are all good, hard working, honest people. They wouldn' deceive us, their loyal customers. Just ask any of them, they'll tell ya. Went to Rumford this morning; $3.39. Back in L/A $3.58. And you THINK we're getting screwed?

Na Pirate, not getting screwed at all. National average price for propane is $3.12. Just had my tank filled here in Norway by a local company run be honest hard working folks $3.55 cash, $3.65 charge. I switched from Dead River last year to this local company. D.R. filled my tank and sent me a bill, $4.12 when the average price was $2.98. When I called them to see if this was an oversight I was told that because my tank took less then 100 gallons I didn't qualify for their "preferred price". (they delivered 98 gallons and I always pay cash). I told them to come get their tank. I'm sure they were happy to put their tank in some more lucrative location. Really, really nice folks to do business with. NO SARCASM HERE!
