Leonard 'Lenny' P. Belleau

AUBURN — Leonard “Lenny” P. Belleau, 69, of Randall Road, Lewiston, died peacefully Monday, Oct. 10, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston, March 26, 1942, a son of the late Vincent and Mary (Shannon) Belleau. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1960. Lenny worked for many years at Bates College as supervisor of dining services. He married the former Eileen Chase on July 3, 1976.

Lenny was a true character. He had many friends and everyone who met him immediately appreciated his wit and sense of humor. He was a great storyteller and told many stories to his friends and family. Even at the very end of his life, Lenny told his children and grandchildren many stories that put a smile on all of their faces.

Lenny enjoyed playing cards (especially gin with his wife, Eileen), scratch tickets and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. He loved the time he spent with his family. He always let his children know how proud he was of them and how much he loved them. He was a loving father and husband.

He leaves his loving wife of 35 years, Eileen of Lewiston; three children, Stephen Belleau and his wife, Eileen, of Lewiston, Kimberly Parker and her husband, Robert, of Lewiston and Jamie Belleau and his wife, Rebecca, of Lewiston; two stepchildren, Theressa Dutton of Georgia, and Gary Hartshorn of Colorado; 14 grandchildren, Nicholas, Casey, Alex, Lauren, Maggie, James, Michael, Anna, Elizabeth, Alissa, Nicole, Bridget, Kylee and Brianna; two sisters, Martha Cramer of California, and Mona Flannigan of New Hampshire; and many friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Vincent and Bernard.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Hospice House, especially Dr. Cabatingan as well as Dr. Gordon for the wonderful care Lenny received.
