WATERVILLE, Maine (AP) — Police in Waterville are investigating what they're calling the disappearance and possible abduction of a 20-month-old girl who has gone missing from her home.
Police say the father of Ayla Reynolds called police to report that his daughter was not in her bed Saturday morning and couldn't be found. She was last seen sleeping at about 10 p.m. Friday by a family member.
A search of the neighborhood by Waterville police and firefighters, the Maine Warden Service and a state police K-9 team failed to uncover any evidence of the girl.
Police are seeking the public's help. They say Ayla was last seen wearing pajamas with polka dots with the words "Daddy's Princess" on them.
