Gripes and Gushes

I sure wish we recycled more than one type of plastic in Auburn. Apparently Lewiston does. A friend was shocked at our bi-weekly schedule also.

A music video station can play days of Christmas videos but no Halloween songs or videos in October. There is a wealth of Halloween music in all genres, just like Christmas, but it is ignored.

People who don’t take migraines seriously. I’ve broken bones, stayed awake during dental procedures that you’re meant to sleep through, had injuries re-set and stitched, bad burns, gashes, fractures, been gored, etc. The migraines are the worst.

Places that don’t have mailing addresses, only tweets and emails!

Eminent domain. It’s hard not to compare the cities and state stealing land for “improvement projects” to the so-called Americans who came here in the first place and did the same thing to we true natives.

People who routinely give up an animal and then acquire a new one months later . . . Doesn’t anyone understand the principle of commitment?

TV stations whose logos, names, titles, etc. are too far to the left on the TV screen so half the letters get cut off. It’s not just on my TV.

Gushes:

Typically people are dreadful during the holidays. This year I’m pleased to note I’ve run across the most pleasant people.

I’m so glad libraries are voting against undue censorship. Personally my best childhood memories are being read to. Not silly children’s novels but historical fiction with all the violence, sex, etc., but also with the struggle of humanity, love, the true nature of man. Everyone I know who was uncensored in the mind as a child grew up with a grasp on reality and a kind streak absent in censored children as adults.

I’ve seen some of the best light shows and displays of holiday decor in Auburn.

I love yarn bombing. Knitters knit colorful covers for things in public spaces. I’ve seen some lovely tree covers. Lovely art should be encouraged.

It was a lovely, quiet holiday full of twinkling lights and simple pleasures. Hope everyone else took joy where it belongs — inside. When glowy joy radiates fiercely inside it’s easy to share — you exude it. Good wintering everyone.

GIVING UP PETS

Sometimes in a persons life, something happens and they may get forced to give up their pet. Then later on their life changes again and are able to have a pet. We ended up in a building of a hundred apartments for the elderly and disable. Because our dog,(4 years old), was not a proper pet for this building, barked at people and very aggressive with other dogs, we had to give her up. My wife needs a dog to keep her company and make her feel at peace, so we got another dog from the shelter,(a little over 10 years old),he's very friendly with everyone, gets along great with the other dogs and doesn't bark. He fits in here very well and it helps my wife very much. So as you see, sometimes you need to do things you don't want to, but it's for the best.

HELLO

I think, becauses their in America, they have that right to speak their mind as MR, MRS or MS Anonymous. It's a freedom we have here and i would gladly spend more time in the Army to make sure they keep that right. It's along the same rights that you have to call them cowards.
