In this Tuesday, Feb. 28 photo provided by the Waldo County Sheriff Department, State police say they charged 24-year-old Daniel Porter, pictured here at the Waldo County Jail, in the death of Jerry Perdomo of Seminole County, Florida, who has been missing since Feb. 16.

Daniel Porter is to make his initial appearance Friday morning in Waldo County Superior Court in Belfast to face a murder charge.

Porter, who had been staying at a house in Jackson, is charged with killing 31-year-old Jerry Perdomo of Orange City, Fla. Perdomo disappeared in Maine Feb. 16 and his body was recovered Wednesday in the woods of Newburgh.

As autopsy that could determine the cause of Perdomo's death is expected to begin Friday at the earliest.

Perdomo was a Seminole County, Fla., firefighter and emergency medical technician and married father of two.
