R. Bechard: Stop the socialists

College students in America are being brainwashed by liberal professors. A friend of Barack Obama, Van Jones, a communist and professor, is brainwashing college students to hate capitalism and like socialism.

Jones and the brainwashed protesters in his anti-capitalist movement, "Rebuild the Dream," should be called the American Socialist Communist Movement.

The occupy protesters claim freedom of speech. It is not freedom of speech, it is a distraction and will lead to anarchy.

The occupy protesters should blame the administration in Washington, not Wall Street. The protesters are not willing to help themselves and are just looking for free handouts. They are nothing but troublemakers.

Let's put a stop to those socialist radicals.

Reggie Bechard, Lewiston

This letter cracked me up.

This letter cracked me up. Might I suggest that you start by creating a list of entertainers who sympathize with these radicals. The free thinking must be stopped!! In the meantime, remain in your bunkers!!

Rebuild the dream sounds fine to me

According to the link that was posted, it's a movement for a sustainable economy, more jobs, accountability for Wall Street, fair share taxes for corporations—and an America that delivers on its promise of opportunity for all. I invite all readers to explore that website--it's an eye-opener, with plentiful information.

Can you say socialist

Can you say socialist propaganda?

Using buzzwords does not equal a reasoned response

You have not mentioned any point made on the website. You've simply offered some words you consider to be a vile slur. That's not at all persuasive.

When you make a reasoned comment ...

... you might get a reasoned response. Until then, calling a socialist a socialist is not a vile slur, it's just accurate.

If your "he" is a reference

If your "he" is a reference to Van Jones, calling him a socialist is being kind. His real roots are in Marxism and Communism. Do some objective reading, T....enlighten yourself; remove yourself from the doldrums of liberalspeak and expose yourself to some truth for a change.

"Ask him if that is a trick

"Ask him if that is a trick question or is it multiple choice?", inquired the inquisitive parrot.

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

I don't consider socialist

I don't consider socialist propaganda to be a 'vile slur' as you called it. It's a fair assessment of anything Van Jones is involved in. To be honest with you, I haven't even gone to the website;I can waste my time in plenty of other places. I don't know the exact words, but I do know the message, 'socialist propaganda'.

The parrot wants to know what

The parrot wants to know what Lewinsky has to do with this conversation. And, FYI, she was a lot more qualified than you think.

Let's see, you call Wilma

Let's see, you call Wilma Turcotte, Mr. Turcotte. You call me a comedienne, when I am quite clearly a male. You appear to have a perceptual dimensional disorder. And when I want you to write my resume for me, I'll discusse it with you first. Don't want to put you in over your head, you know?

Yea, and Obama calls his

Yea, and Obama calls his healthcare plan affordable – go figure. When you put perfume on a turd, you still have, well, a turd.

The benefits of health insurance reform

"The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office recently revised downward the total estimated net cost of the law over 10 years, from $1.13 trillion to $1.083 trillion. The CBO has also projected the law would yield around $200 billion in deficit reduction over the next decade, and said that repealing it would add costs to taxpayers over the same term." ABC News--http://tinyurl.com/7ck72bf

You can take a look at what would happen if Republicans succeed in derailing health insurance reform--http://www.attackwatch.com/attack-files/health-reform.

Betty, First, CBO has a 100%

Betty,
First, CBO has a 100% miss rate when it comes to projecting costs of large programs, mainly because congress usually grows the program from its original intent.

Secondly, the terms deficit reduction is a misused term in Washington. The $200Billion in deficit reduction simply means that the government has reduced their projected increase – that means nothing.

Lastly, I recommend balancing your reading with opposing points of view. The URL you provide is government propaganda – just trust and verify.

PAUL ST JEAN's picture

Let's see, $1.13 trillion

Let's see, $1.13 trillion down to $1.083 trillion. Last week they were telling us the 10 year cost was projected to be $1.76 trillion. Their original 10 year projection was $974 billion. Know what? They don't have a bloody clue as to what they're talking about.
At least the republicans might have a more accurate picture of what their health insurance reform will cost. They can't do any worse than the current CBO.

The CBO can only make an

The CBO can only make an estimate on the lies - sorry – data provided by congress.

I opens only the left eye.

You listed several trite "ends", pretty much the same ones found at Communist Party USA and at any of dozens of socialist sites - and union sites. But they all are vague about the "means". History is not vague - read it now before it gets rewritten. The honest party line is always:

You 99% are too stupid and lazy to manage your lives. We, the 1% wannabes, will handle everything for you. If you don't give us the authority, we'll take it.

Seems they were talking about

Seems they were talking about that very thing the other morning on MSDNC. How strange that such good stuff really gets around.
