G. Roberts: Workings of government

Well, he has done it again. If Gov. Paul LePage doesn’t get his way, he and the Maine Heritage Policy Center go after a department or person that gets in the way.

Maine's speaker of the House cheated the taxpayers of millions; LePage’s appointed head of the Department of Health and Human Services failed to report computer problems that cost taxpayers millions of dollars; the state treasurer has feathered his nest at the cost of the little town of Georgetown; and now Dale McCormick has been run out of office.

McCormick is a wonderful woman who has done so much good at the Maine Housing Authority in her seven-year tenure, and has been hounded into resigning.

Well, the MHPC will likely have someone from its ranks available right away.

Oh, yes, has anyone wondered where the MHPC gets its money? Ask, and one gets the answer, “We don’t have to disclose that information.” And its officers have the nerve to stand before the TV cameras and talk about transparency?

Having been a citizen of this state my entire 78 years, I am ashamed of what it is becoming. What is it teaching our children about the workings of government?

I think any honest and straight-thinking person will think twice about getting involved.

I send best wishes to McCormick. I know there are people and places who will appreciate her caring, honest work.

Gail Roberts, Turner

Welcome to the "new"

Welcome to the "new" republican party, Ms. Roberts, the party of thieves, crooks and hypocrites. Hopefully the people of the state will wake up and smell the coffee come November.

How else are they going to

How else are they going to undo 25 years of democrat rule?

out of the last 25 years,

out of the last 25 years, we've been under eight years of democratic governors, and 17 years under republican rule. So where do you get '25 years of democrat rule'?

There may

have been a couple of independents and a republican in there Dan, but the state house has been controlled by democrats for those 25 or 30 years the parrot is talking about. Listen to the bird, he's a smart one.

One of these days, I'm going to have to ask you how old you are, because I occasionally get the feeling that I'm dealing with a 7 year old, and that's a road I'd really rather not travel.

first the truth is self

first the truth is self evident, second until you become a citizen of this state, it's none of your business, BUTT OUT!!! Take your Koch money and disrupt somebody else, leave us to do the right thing.

Dan, Isn’t simplistic just to

Dan,

Isn’t simplistic just to say it is self evident and go on about your business – have you always taken the path of least resistance?

 's picture

the path of least resistance

the path of least resistance is to ignore people who are paid by the Koch brothers to post to site that they have no business posting. However someone has to challenge your tripe

I’ll admit to begin paid by

I’ll admit to begin paid by the Koch brothers when you admit being probed by aliens.

Until then, I’ll assert my opinion is my own. Moreover, I welcome your challenges. Life would be a bit boring otherwise.

Open forum, T...all opinions

Open forum, T...all opinions are valued. Why aren't you sending the same butt out message to Dr. Dosh? He doesn't live here, either.

Paul, There are times when

Paul,

There are times when you must ignore immature behavior. It will not be long before his thoughts focus on someone else.

Anyway, I’m not sure how many people try to decipher Dr. Dosh’s comments anymore; it is difficult at times.

The Dosh is a channel for the mother ship.

I agree with that, but my point was that Dosh has the right to post here and so does Mark Gravel, whether he speaks in behalf of himself, the Koch Brothers or the National Association for the Preservation of cock-eyed Queens. It's an open forum with no geographical restrictions.
