AUBURN — At least three people were seriously injured Sunday when a car tried to turn into a restaurant on Route 4, according to a police report.

A 1998 Buick driven by Darin S. Spooner, 40, of Lisbon Falls was northbound on Turner Road when it turned left into the path of a 2001 Chrysler driven by Emily J. Hutchinson, 22, of Farmington shortly after 1 p.m.

Spooner was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston along with four others. He suffered injuries to his chest and stomach.

Hutchinson suffered an incapacitating injury to her chest and stomach.

All three passengers in Spooner's car were taken to the hospital, the report said. They were Heidi L. Kimmick, 30, with broken bones in the area of her neck; Joshua Spooner, 16, with broken bones in his back and Cameron Kimmick, 9, with head injuries.

Spooner's car was turning into the parking lot at Roy's Allsteak Hamburgers and Golf Center.

Both drivers and all passengers wore seat belts.

Both cars were towed.
