I am sick and tired of hearing the Democrats cry about bipartisanship. Bipartisanship to them is "do it our way." When was the last time they compromised on anything?
That's fine and dandy. I just wonder how many of those cats and kittens will end up in some other shelter, or thrown outdoors when the new owners tire of it. I am no fan of these marathon give aways.
"If passed, that would mean a property tax increase of about $97 for an Auburn home valued at $150,000."
That's what they said last year. My home is valued at 110 and my taxes went up 40 bucks a month last year. That is 40 bucks a month I wont be spending at a local business. Whatever the increase is this year, will also take away from what I have to spend at local businesses. The council says they want to attract business to Auburn, but you cannot expect a business to set up shop when the people have no money to spend. Politicians just don't get it!
Sheriff Dion, a poster boy for ethics. How about the good sheriff going to law school on the taxpayers dime? How about the good sheriff going to law school full time while getting paid to be a full time sheriff? How about the good sheriff putting out campaign signs out of the back of a county car? Yea, the good sheriff, what a poster boy for ethics. How come none of you critics ever talk about that?
Imagine that, parental involvment with no ipad. This is how you educate children, not just give them an ipad and ignore them. If Auburn insists on ipads to educate the children, do we still need all of the teachers?
Money doesn't educate kids. You cannot throw money at the schools and expect better results. Oh well, I am one step closer to just walking away from my house and moving out of state. God knows with the decline of Auburn, I can't sell my home and I cannot afford to keep it with these yearly tax increases.
