Its worse then a scourge, people are dropping like flies around here with another woman dying in West Farmington the other day. Its a shame that these people don't value life enough to just say NO!
Last time I went to the ROOST I had my 82 year old father-in-law with me and there was no handicapped parking available and when I questioned this I was told by management "We are grandfather claused on the handicapped law" and when I replied thats not true I was laughed at and dismissed. I've never been back. Farmington selectmen let us down on this one. The stairs are a help but making the ROOST comply with state & federal handicap laws would have been money better spent.
While I am not in favor of big conglomerates over local "Mom & Pop" stores..I have to agree with Mark Elliott who below brought up the fact that the maggots would not have survived being cooked. Kudos to the reporter for doing the rare thing these days which is "Good Investigative Reporting", its nice to read a real unbiased investigated story for a change.
Farmington is not as big as you might think and as much as I do not particularly care for the PD I will call a spade a spade on this one and say that being as small a area as Farmington is 99 & 9/10% of the "outlaw" element knows where this said secure building is and ANYONE with a sack or lack of brains could of easily broken in and grabbed them. That being said.... KUDOS to the grabbers...there's one less case that should go to court seeing as how chain of custody and most of the evidence is now missing from the original victimless crime.
northwoods wrote "I thought in Phillips 1000 plants was considered an usable amount" well if its not it should be.
Reagan Administration thought the same thing and all it did was cost tax payers more money to house the extraordinarily large amount of extra prisoners with out slowing down the flow at all...BAD IDEA! there has to be another way.
Not only does this show signs of growing up BUT it also restores some of my lost faith with today's youth. If he had done this after hiring a lawyer it wouldn't of meant as much, it don't absolve him of the wrongness he quit but it sure should count in the "big picture" of life. I wish him well in life after this whole affair is over.
While not a big fan of cops you have to give props to Peck he has always been a man of his word which is rare with the local cops, he should prove to be a asset to the community in the position of chief. Congratulation Jack
So now we all know why they call it dope...this story is just too funny
What I'd like to know is how much did everyone smoke before they came up with those numbers for prices....Is MaineCare going to cover it....we sure have a LONG way to go yet before this is a cost feasible treatment.
