The behaviors kids are displaying in school these days are getting increasingly more dangerous and out of control. When a child is becoming a danger to himself and, more importantly, to other students in the school what are adults & school officials supposed to do? Sit back & allow that student to throw chairs around the classroom? It is utterly ridiculous to expect that educators are to sit back & watch this dangerous behavior unfold in the school without having any options to stop what is happening.

The Heritage Foundation is a Conservative "Policy & Research" group. I found this out the hard way. Last year, not knowing anything about the foundation, I saw that they were offering free mini-books of the Constitution (great for classroom use, the link advertised). As a teacher, I like to get freebies wherever I can so I got enough copies for each of my students. Afterward, I got letters from Sean Hannity & Rush Limbaugh asking for donations to support this foundation. They sent me pamphlets filled with Repub party propaganda and letter after letter asking for donations until finally I sent them a letter saying that I had no interest in supporting their foundation. Ugh.
A decade ago we would have never thought same-sex marriage would be legalized anywhere, and now there are a handful of states where it is legal. It is only a matter of time until it happens here. The vote this year was much closer than I expected and I believe that in a few years Maine will be ready. Many young voters see no problem with same-sex marriage and will support it. After all, what is the big deal?
I don't "hate" Catholics at all. The only reason I singled them out was because they were the loudest voice in opposition of same-sex marriage. Not only that.. but this letter was all about Catholics, so what's the problem??
