I don't often agree with Mr St. Jean and Mr. Hobbs.. but they're dead on. Lewiston had a great year and may have overachieved taking such a young team to a state final.. and yes, youth hockey is alive and well. It is a tough pill to swallow as i know too well losing in two state championships myself for Lewiston.. and I really feel for the seniors. But fortunately this is a team full of players returning next year.. including Bourrassa who had an excellent playoff run. Hopefully next years team takes this loss and uses it as motivation. In my opinion having watched Lewiston lose in their last 6 consecutive state final appearances.. I feel they haven't been coming out with enough intensity. Last night they were out played and out hustled. The former is fine, when you up against a better team.. but the hustle factor is what was disapointing to me. That was a State Championship game.. I didn't feel they played with the urgency and determination that the stage deserves.
Fortunately a majority of the team will have a chance to redeem themselves in '14.
#21 for the Blue Devils is proving to be a tough task.
