YEah, but how many jobs were actually lost during this period? Certainly many thousands of summer/part time/seasonal jobs were lost. This country is on a very bad and dangerous path, and both major parties are largely responsible, as the government has gotten too big, out of control, and it's weight and crushing burdens are literally killing the private sector, and inhibiting so called "free" trade as well.It is beyond time to downsize both the fed and many of our state governmesnts as well.
We've been seeing way too much arson up here over the past several years. Lock them up and throw away the key! Did you all know, that the one scenario, in which a law abiding gun owner/property owner can actually shoot(and I mean shoot to kill), someone, who is not inside the premises of you r hme(I mean, outside), is an arsonsist? IIf you catch someone in the act of commiting arson, you can soot to kill. Keep that in mind.
Lock this mental case up!
Ridiculous post. Guns, and so called "gun nuts" are NOT the problem, by far. There are probably at least a hundred million gun owners across this nation, and the overwhelming majority of them are peaceful and law abiding citizens. On a nationla level, gun violence overall, has come pretty steadily down during the past fourty years, and actually hit the lowest point in fourty years just a few years ago. It's actually about half of what it was in 1980! We've already heard enough lies from the fear-mongering, pro Big Brother lefties out there, that tell such blatant lies. We don't need any more gun laws-the criminals obey none of them anyway, and steal hundreds of thousands of guns every single year, as well as obtain them via the black market. Stricter gun laws actually help violent criminals, as more rights are taken away from law abiding citizens. Just look at the failed policies in place in cities like Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, etc. etc.. And every state, that has more accessible concealed carry rights and laws, almost always have lower robbery, rape, and gun violence rates, not higher. Look at this realistically! Making serious improvements in the abyssmal prosecution rates across the nation, greatly improving the failed mental health systems, and punishing more severely those convicted of gun related crimes, will go much farther in reducing gun violence, than passing even more laws, which in many states are not properly enforced to begin with!
There are already state and Federal laws against gun trafficking, we ALREADY have the background checks to deal with, etc. The politicians are reaching for straws, instead of dealing with the real issue here, which is the failures of our mental health systems across the nation. This is what they should be concentrating on-this, and enforcing existing laws already on the books. Not taking away more of the rights of law abiding citizens!
These people are crazy-gun sales are going through the roof! If I had enough money to invest in stocks, I would but some of this in a heartbeat!
Serious poachers deserve substantial jail-time and fines.
That's a great idea you have about an article (or furum of some sort) for folks on how to protect ourselves and our loved ones. they do have to be affordable, though, especially in today's economic climate. Good call though!
hey Tom.......dogs are great, but some folks can't own, afford, or take care of one. That poor woman in Farmington might be alive today if she had had access to a revolver, or even just a stun gun.
