Yeah, what precedent is there for courts interfering with traditional marriage? I mean, other than Virginia v. Loving? Because that clearly doesn't count. Somehow. Or something.
More trees should be planted to hide what a monstrosity the Vincent Block has become. I'm still in shock at how awful the final outcome is. If that's the best the City can do for the gateway to New Auburn, I don't have much faith in what will replace that tree. This is symptomatic of a much larger problem. Auburn has no guiding vision, despite endless master plans, because nobody has the courage or conviction to see anything through. As each banal project comes to fruition, the essence of what Auburn was is forever lost.
Excellent work from promising new faces in architecture. UMaine and Professor Stark in particular should be commented for developing such a strong program.
In a typical year, influenza kills close to ten times that in the U.S (37,000 or so). So once again, I ask the journalistic community - is this worse than a standard flu? It certainly seems more transmissible, but it is more dangerous?
Our old mill buildings can be reused. A downtown filled with empty parking garages, not so much. Not unless these garages are specifically designed with long-term adaptive reuse in mind.

He's lifting more than I am on some of those exercises! You da man!
Thank you, SJ. At the end
Thank you, SJ. At the end of the day, we have to ask what we want downtown to be, not how we can retrofit rules and regs for a partcular tenant.

The Turner Village
The Turner Village Preservation Committee = astroturf. Their incorporation date is later than the application date for this project.
