This intersection has been dangerous for years. It will be a good improvement for those of us who use it daily. Huge tractor trailer units should NOT be using the Hyde road as a pass through and the town should find a way to stop them. When one meets them as they travel through in the middle of the road, it is another dangerous condition. Our selectmen should post the road--in my opinion--so they will use route #2 & 4 to go to the mill.
I wonder why no name is mentioned in the article. Not a complete story it would seem. Who is the driver???
The new store in Liv Falls sure improves the area. It went from an old, partially empty building to a bright, renovated building, now used wholly by Cumby.
The location of the coffee machine is certainly an important issue.
I think that the town should not take on an obligation to build a road to Parker pond. Our tax rate just went up and this is not a way to save money for the taxpayers. When will the spending stop?? I have just read that there is a plan to keep the Livermore Falls high school building open for various activities and projects. Who is going to pay for that? Do the taxpayers even get a vote or is the cost just rolled into the school budget?
If someone is able to accuse another person of saying a comment, they should print the names in the paper. This is just another smear tactic with nothing to prove it was said and the papers run with it. Back in the day, newspapers were responsible and one could read the articles and believe what is in them. Now all they are is political arms of the liberals who are out to destroy anyone who doesn't agree with them.
Why have there been so many road deaths this summer?? It seems like every day there is another one or two in the paper.
I thought that building was going to be closed.
I think the turning lane is a good idea but for the life of me I can't see where those hated round-a-bouts are a good idea. The ones they have in Auburn are way to small , confusing and hard to navigate. I would hope that sane minds would prevail and they would wait to see how the turning lane works out.
They have sat on this for months and now have cost taxpayers 3-4 million dollars more in interest. Doing the same with the budget.
