So the Governor starts a fight where one didn't exist, and starts a fight that didn't need to happen. All he has to say is "I'm not going, I have a prior commitment," but instead he decides that a reporters query has to be a personal affront and racial attack (which we saw happening in the campaign too). What a great example he sends to the kids of Maine. Forget how you feel about the NAACP, this was rude, disrespectful, and makes Maine look bad.

Many of the arguments on here remind of those against musicians like Eminem and Marilyn Manson in the 90s and early 2000s. It's sad, because you try to assign political blame for a problem that both the left and the right need to solve. I think we all need to check our rhetoric and keep things civil, if nothing more than to set the example for the next generation.

Well can it load a gun up for you , and cock it too?
Well if it can, then the next time you assault a dude
Just tell the judge it was my fault and I'll get sued"

Classy act, using a derogation term about the mentally handicapped to make your point. That truly makes you look like an informed human being. I'm sure you'll be winning plenty of arguments if you can manage to add other insulting terms to your posts.
And more to the point: If the "lower 47%" don't pay enough, which tax refund program would you like to cut first? I guess as someone whose friendly to rich causes you've never considered the marginal value of income, and how money is less useful to those who have a lot of it than those who don't. But that's just reality, and I'll probably be labeled a socialist by someone who doesn't know what that word means either...

The Celtics were already a dominant franchise in NBA history when Bird came along. Brady & co. had to establish the Pats as a marquee franchise. They brought the swagger.

What's being lost in all of your screaming and blind hatred is the sentiment from the Somali elders who support Theriault in towing cars that don't belong there. Seems to me that this is more of an age issue than a race or religion issue. But that argument takes reason and reading skills, two things sorely lacking in the world of the SJ commentors.

"Still gushing job losses"? Let's not let facts get in the way of your argument. The dirty secret the right doesn't want you to know is that the private sector has been adding jobs all year, and most of the "losses" have been from government positions (most recently census and teaching jobs). But lets not let it look like Obama has cut the public payroll while adding private sector jobs...

The ruling that the old Cony high site could be sold to Hannaford even with the same wording seems to say otherwise. Also consider the portion of the Martel School property Lewiston sold to Shaws for a more local example. It seems like everyone is quick to break basic moral values for a quick buck and a promotion on to the next level. That's all Rodgers is looking for. He's got his flagship building, and now he wants a quick buck to balance the books and move on to "bigger and better" things. And we'll be left to deal with the consequences.
Perhaps an engaging mathematician could guess how much the Council will lose in cash long term if they sell the camp? Besides the immediate drop in donations, how much will be lost because local boys don't get the opportunity to use the camp and don't decide to join scouting?

As far as I can tell, Democrats raise spending and raise taxes, while Republicans raise spending and cut taxes, putting the problems off for the next generation. Vote independent.
Classy

And one more thing

Sanity
Hmmm Reminds me of The Rally to Restore Sanity and how so many people still don't get it. http://tinyurl.com/2br456s
