I just love this line: "the free breakfast for all is a pilot program from now until June. If it costs too much or doesn't do what's expected, “we don't have to do it next year."
Does anyone actually believe this program would ever stop once they get it started? If you do, I have some really nice swamp land I'd love to sell you. :-)
First of all, since concealed carry by the name means the citizen can carry a weapon in a manner that it is not readily known that person is carrying. That being the case, how is an employer going to know whether an employee has one or not. To say an employee cannot bring a weapon onto work property is in essence going to take away the right to carry. If the weapon cannot be brought into the parking lot and secured in the vehicle, would mean the citizen would also be prevented from having their weapon while traveling to and from their place of employment as well. I believe that puts an undo hardship on the person who is legally permitted to carry a concealed weapon. I hope this law is upheld. Then I hope as another step Maine law makers will look into sharing reciprocity with other concealed carry states. Maine is one of only six states that does not share reciprocity with other states. Since I live in a reciprocity state and visit Maine from time to time, I would like to see Maine do that. Having said that until they do, I will honor their law.
If Vale St. is to be one way going toward Sabattus St. I would think it would make sense to make that intersection a right turn only. That way drivers wouldn't be trying to get across more than one lane of traffic.
The bear received the name Splash which was submitted by my daughter, Bethany. She still has the smaller version of the bear which was given to her as the winner of the naming contest.
Easiest way to make clam dip is 8 oz. cream cheese mixed with a can of clams juice and all. Mix it until the cream cheese is smooth. You can adjust the taste with a little worchestershire sauce or perhaps some old bay seasoning.
I definitely do NOT think requiring a commenter to use their real name is a good idea. I think that information should be on file with the paper, but I do NOT think it should be public knowledge. All the commenters and those in authority know who the primary offenders on the site are. There are very few who consistently are a problem. My main complaint is that although those people are cautioned and even blocked on a temporary basis, they always are allowed to resume and never learn their lesson. I honestly think the very worst (and we all know who they are) should be permanently banned when they have shown they are unwilling or unable to refrain from being the constant negative they are. How many opportunities they are given is something that would need to be decided by the paper. Perhaps a system of banning for longer periods for ongoing offenses would be a possibility, until ultimately the ban would be permanent. Please notice I did NOT name any names.
Of course, we all know DHS
Of course, we all know DHS NEVER makes a mistake... NOT!!!!
