It's tough right now, it's going to be tough in the future, in fact the pain of this may never totally go away - but you'll make it. God bless the parents, and the rest of the family; be strong, hold tight to each other. You will get through this. Talk about it a lot - it helps.
I still think the best way to combat this issue would be for no one to show up. Let them walk their half-mile walk alone with no one watching. That would make them mad and they might give up this hobby.
What if on Friday no one was there to watch them walk down the street? Now that would make them mad. They are doing this for the attention. Let's stop giving it to them.

I wish the costs were lower so more Mainers could afford the shoes and be able to provide support, but here's one Mainer that may start saving in order to be able to do just that - buy Maine shoes and support business here at home. We need more entrepreneurial spirit like this; that and a pro-business governor.
