Auburn needs a little more than just 1 dollar for that building. But.. It would be costly to tear it down also. I have to agree with the previous comments about auburn needing the money. Besides Auburn has already supported the Arts. With that damn eyesore in the middle of downtown they call a park.

The daughter is only partially at fault here. It's one thing to talk about it with her father in private. It's another to give the story to the local newspaper. However her father must have given permission to have the story run or he would not have talked to the Sun Journal.

Are you really that dumb? Being they knew too much and those involved they were killed for it. It's too bad two people lost their lives but from the looks of this operation these were not small time criminals they were working for. Most likley Gang/Cartel connections.

I think those who elected Pratt were looking for a miracle. Clifton did a good job taking care of the roads with what money the town allocated to do it with. From what I understand this Pratt did not even have his own equipment or hired people with leased equipment which can get pretty expensive. I knew once the snow fell this guy would take off leaving the town high and dry. He was just their for the ride so to speak to make a quick buck.

I don't know if eliminating sales tax is the answer. But..I would like a law passed that tells Cities and Towns they HAVE to use excise tax collected for road repairs and nothing else. That is what it was designed for and they are using it for the general fund. Maine would have fantastic roads and the State would not have to pick up the tab for those Towns who waisted it on something else.

I agree this is not the best law. Even though this law will have an impact on low to moderate income families there is on benefit that not many are seeing. All Individuals who cheat our income tax code by working under the table, under reporting income, even drug dealers will have to pay a little extra now for services and items.
I for one am for a flat sales tax instead of an Income tax structure. That way everyone pays their fair share. However that is not prefect either since most would circumvent the system and purchase outside the state.

I totally agree with queenhoneybee. However, I wonder as well if these vehicles were stolen from a junk yard to taken for joyrides and dumped for the thrill?

Lisan180. If we had more workers like him working for the State we would not be having this discussion. There are a lot of deadbeats in the State gov. No one said all State Workers were.

I don't blame lewiston for stopping spring cleanup. It has been abused for years by businesses and Slum Lords.
