It always amazes me how people like you are so quick to defend Muslims, when you obviously know NOTHING about Islam. Wait until a group of Somali men call you a sharmoota (whore) to your face ...and THEN tell me how you feel? I know arabic cuss words and hear them frequently in LA!!!
Queenhoneybee, aren't you a martyr. Why don't YOU feed, shelter, and clothe this guy and his wife, hmmm?
I hope this little paragraph you've constructed doesn't happen to be part of a college research paper, because it sucks. If you've ever taken a glance through the sex offender registry for Lewiston-Auburn, you would see how often these predators re-offend!!!! Do your research!!!
As I stated in my post - maybe you should attempt to read AND comprehend next time - I didn't have to pull my kids out of class. The school didn't show the speech afterall.
I absolutely DID have a discussion with my teenagers .. we had a LONG, frank discussion about our political opinions before the phone call to the school was made.
So tell me, just who DOESN'T pass their values/beliefs onto their children? Are you saying I should pass YOUR beliefs onto them, or those of joe blow next door? You are a whackadoodle. And I'm guessing that you have no kids of your own.
I have teenagers. That's the age level I was referring to. As a matter of fact, my oldest will be of voting age by the next election.
ALL parents tend to pass their ideals/religious beliefs/political views onto their children. it's natural. So what the hell is your problem with that? OH, wait.. you're just angry because I don't agree that Obama is the best thing since sliced bread. I didn't vote for him, don't agree with anything he's doing, and my teenagers are old enough to get online and determine which media outlets they'd like to trust for political coverage... then form their own opinion. My teenagers are smarter than most adults.. they don't believe everything they read nor do they feel guilted into agreeing with others just to avoid debate.
Wow, so our children should be sheeple and never go against the grain for fear of having to explain their differing views to their classmates? Sorry, but i'd much rather prepare my children to think for themselves, and stand up for their own beliefs.
I called the superintendent's office beforehand, and was also given the 'we don't know if the speech will be shown' thing. I let them know that if it was shown, I wanted to opt both of my teenagers out of viewing it. The superintendent took note, and I also contacted the homeroom teachers of both of my kids. The speech was not shown afterall (I'm thinking because many parents wanted their children opted out).
I don't feel I have to explain my views to anyone, regarding this matter.
See, one of the biggest problems our society has is not believing the victims when they do come forward.
I was abused day in and day out by someone living in our house. To say that he deserved 550+ charges is an understatement. Nobody beleived me. He's still out roaming the earth...
So think of my situation and ask yourself, do you want this guy coming after your kids, grandkids etc.? Would you BELIEVE your own son, daughter, grandchild???!
