Content, emphasis, tone and

Content, emphasis, tone and more importantly.... intent. Now begins the gradual assassination of our chief executive. But...by our print media. LePage was completely dismissed by January 2012, until the budget struggle. Now it will begin again....ramping it up. Funny....none of this occurred with Dirigo Health....remember that?

There are so many good

There are so many good aspects to this law. There are also many many parts that are blatantly over reaching. I don t think he lied.....I just don t think he is familiar with the actual written law. . He delivered a speech prepared by others.

Sneaking in a clandestine

Sneaking in a clandestine tape recorder? Hahahahahahahaha. Ohh, we all miss the days of owing the hospitals, you remember? And taxing haircuts? Sending our head of the turnpike authority on lavish vaca's for years and years. And it goes on and on.....Where will they have tape recorder s next? Michaud's wonderful career at the papermill. Where he and his family and friends had to walk to work up hill, everyday, both ways. It ll get thicker and thicker.

Content, emphasis, tone, intent. Why didn t the headline read, LePage apologizes to fellow republicans for the unsubstantiated rumors spread by the media? Who pays Mr. Thistle? Is he in a union?

I agree with Allissa, and, I

I agree with Allissa, and, I would add.....aren t these publications responsible for our horrible image by....repeating these unverifiable stories? I hope we can get Michaud as governor, so we get back to the olden days, when the huge debate was taxing.....aaaahhmm.....haircuts?

Good commentary Rex. Those

Good commentary Rex. Those are the best ideas yet. With current technology doors individually and all could be locked down, by cell phones. The disagreement I would have is you are demonizing guns anecdotally. It s funny even with the highly trained police hitting their targets 18% of the time, the emotionally distraught, snapped or just crazy people never seem to attack police stations. Why? In Maine we do have a relatively low crime rate even for our population density. I probably could dig up and even tell an equal amount of stories where people successfully defended themselves.
Having guns in school is crazy nuts. My first reaction about Newtown, hearing of the teachers diving in front of their students was......arm the teachers. Then I started to think. There has to be a better way. The NRA is fighting the erosion, they just need a better spokesperson.

By the response, this is an interesting and provocative article. Like everyone else I was deveastated by Newtown. nauseating. I only have one question. In all these horrible massacres by obviously sick, deranged, detached? people, not one was ever so sick, confused, deranged, ill, enough to consider an attack on a police station. Somehow they migrate to places where they know people are defenseless. I wonder why? Does this show intent? I have no problem with arming the teachers who want to be armed. And providing them with the training et al, already described here. Our teaachers, as evidenced at Newtown, are heroic.....daily. Let s give them the choice to defend themselves and the kids.

I find the depictions in this

I find the depictions in this art kinda dark. Yes, the collective labor movment in Maine was a part of our history. The artist stated she wanted the mural to be "warm." To say this is as an unbiased view of Maine Labor, is a stretch. It left out conspicuously, the genious of Maine worker s whose inventions literally changed the world.
I had never seen the "art" before this. Knowing Maine history, as I do, I thought Gov LePages' decision the correct one. Shouldn t Maine Labor want a celebration of our history?
