I thought the purpose of the bail was that it be forfited should the defendant disappear? How can the guy, "withdraw" his bail? If the defendant is not found and misses his trial, then would the courts use the property to pay the bail?
I'm sure at those Govenor's will spread the word about the great Maine lobsters all to their constituents and will result in a tremendous overflow of sales for our state!
Such a tragedy!
Of course the appology is warranted! What a shame that you mix what is right about the appology with what is wrong with the criminal. He shouldn't have been given a better outcome because of the errors, in my opinion. I wonder if he signed an agreement to not sue for rights violations for the better sentence! I have no sympathy for him for his crimes. As for the sad life story the article presents, while unfortunate and serves as some understanding of his life choices, doesn't negate the responsibility this criminal has to society to abide by the law.
SHAME on YOU Lois if you think that the money the tax payers of Maine lost to the 1%-ers, of Maine, in tax cuts that the current Govenor bullied through when he was, "elected" hasn't been the giant pink elepant in the buget room! You talk of innovations in the budget plan to get the hospitals paid to create jobs in the community. How about just plain fainess so that the hard working employess of the State, the local tax communities don't have to suffer the financial trials caused by the games our leadership play using our jobs and higher taxes to pay government debts that would have EASILY taken care of from those cuts. Not to mention what that money would do for education, the disabled, community resource funding. It's disgusting and anyone who can reasonably understand costs and expenses in our budget would see the same thing too! Your article is offensive and insulting, as a tax payer and hard worker in the State of Maine.
