Pay for e news

Let's see. I have a choice. Obamacare or the enews.

Military Wives Choir

I saw their first audition on you tube. They were fabulous. God bless these women for their courage and using their musical abilities to bring cheer to the rest of the country

same sex marriage

The people of Maine were deceived and played like suckers. We were told that all they wanted was the same opportunity to be married. They said there wouldn't be any discrimination. Were we fooled. Well, most people were. I knew with a lot of other Christians that being married was not the only item on the agenda. They had to get gay marriage passed in order to get the rest of their agenda in place. Kinda sounds like the Federal Government

Gas Prices

I emailed the White House in February and asked them if and how they were going to keep gas and oil prices down. I received a reply that said their intention was to go green and phase oil and gas out. They linked me to a speech given by the energy secretary in which he said the administration would like to see our gas prices equivalent with Europe. So my question is how is green working for you?

Boy Scouts

I admire the Boy Scout Organization for standing on their principles. When I was in the scouts, we always started with pledge and then had prayer. This gentleman has a right to his opinions and I respect that. But I also respect the fact that the Boy Scouts Organization have a right to their beliefs and opinions as well

compassion for drunk, texting driver

I have read a lot about having compassion in the comments to this story. I believe in having compassion. But more importantly, I believe is being responsible. I believe this young lady and young man who survived the accident should be held accountable for their lack of responsibility. The fact she had been drinking, and then to top that she was texting while driving is not being responsible. Their are consequences to your actions

Good Shepherd Food Bank

I believe that the founder of Good Shepherd, Joanne Pike would have a fit if she saw this being run as a business. Joanne founded the foodbank on the scripture, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" and also "freely you have received freely give." I can remember volunteering to sort the food during a 3 or 4 hour shift. At the end of the shift the volunteers were allowed to take food according to the size of their families. I understand that they have done away with volunteers and hired people to sort the food. What a shame. The vision that Joanne had has vanished.

Day of prayer

How many have actually read the proclomation signed by Governor LePage? He goes back into history, right to our founding fathers, up through the civil war, right into today's circumstances. Where were you anti prayer people, when President Bush had a national day of prayer after 9/11. Didn't hear all these complaints then. And how about when the President signs the proclomation for a National Day of Prayer in May? It's about time we had a leader who recognizes where we are supposed to be in times of trouble. I agree with the previous poster who said if this isn't your thing, then don't participate. As a Bible believing Christian, I will be participating in this great day. I will be praying for this state and nation as I try to do everyday. May we never forget the words and wisdom of our founding fathers as they prayed and sought God's guidance in establishing this great country.

So called Gay Marriage

Here we go again. Hasn't this issue been voted on twice and been rejected twice by the people in the state of Maine? I guess three strikes and you're out. Why do the gay and lesbians feel they have to force this issue down our throats? As far as I know they have the same rights and privileges as everyone else. Please stop the nonsense and let's work together on more important issues like jobs and ending unemployment, helping people stay in their homes etc.

Health Insurance

It's about time that the state legislature did something about Health Insurance in Maine. It will be great to allow more competition by allowing Mainers to buy health insurance across state lines. It will drive down the rates. We can now actually shop for our health insurance. It is interesting to hear the Dems and liberals complaining about how this bill was "ramrodded" through the legislature. Do they recall another health care bill being passed in DC? If memory serves me correct, backroom deals were made to secure votes, debate was cut off and Obamacare was shoved down our throats. Where were the Dems and Liberals then? I didn't hear them complaining that the health care bill was "ramrodded" through Congress. What goes around comes around.
