Russ, thanks for the clarification - I guessed it wasn't someplace public - I drive Randall Road every day and the trees are too tall. Your friend is one lucky person to have such a beautiful view, and I respect your decision to help him/her keep their residence private. Again, great work!
I volunteered at the registration table at the Maine Children's Cancer Walk on Sept 19 and got to meet these wonderful women. Had I known this story, I most certainly would have hugged them. They are such an inspiration. The 3-mile walk at the Auburn Mall happens every September if anyone wants to join the Bodacious Broads next year. Keep it up ladies!!
I agree, it will be a tough sell. There will be a costume contest - not sure what the prizes are, but two years ago the kids got to go on the ice in costume - they think that's cool. We plan on getting out a little early to trick-or-treat and then head over to the colisee. At least it's a Saturday anyway and easier to get an early start.
The Maineiacs did not disappoint - what an awesome game! I just loved the excitement, the crowd chanting, the energy. Many were on the edge of their seats. Thought the return of the t-shirt tosses was a nice touch too. Thanks team!
To each his own - my family is super excited for the next two games! The players seem to be a respectable group - they come out of the locker room pumped up and ready to play. Spent a few mins talking with the coach and he's a great guy. Encouraging the youth hockey players to have fun - his spirit is contageous. We will have a tough couple of games, but I bet they will be fun to watch!
Have to add to this hilarious list: Trying to get onto Main St from Mollison Way (near Marco's) is the longest light ever. I love watching cars stuck in front of me creep up inches at a time like it will help the light change to green. Then, when it does turn green, you have about 20 seconds to get through before it's yellow/red again. Crazy!
I don't understand the argument to repeal the law. In this economy, I'd rather have more of my income in my pocket by lowering the income tax. Most of the increased taxes (besides car repairs) are optional and I could decide not to partake in them and use my income tax savings on other things. I guess if you're not working, the repeal would make sense for you. But for working people, let's let this law go through.

The fairgrounds offices are all out too. What caused this?
