In 2013 the Governor's office spent $17,704.30 on airfare out of state, according to the Open Checkbook site. It is a little bit difficult to navigate the site and it is not usually up to date -- there's a reporting lag time. In 2012 the Governor's office spent $7,900 on flights out of state.
According to the Department of Marine Resources: "The preliminary report indicates that the total landed value for Maine lobster in 2013 was $364 million, a $22 million increase over 2012 and $30 million over 2011."
Just FYI. I don't believe Gov. LePage has travelled to Turkey on state business. As far as we know during his first term he has been to Iceland, China (2), Mexico, Columbia, Morocco and Canada . . .
I don't know how I got the figure 10,000 -- that's my mistake and I apologize. It is 10 acres or larger for a Great Pond, as you note.
To answer your question. Maine does not have a Lt. Gov. The next in the chain of succession here would be the State Senate President. In this case Sen. Justin Alfond, D-Portland.
