Anderson Staples Post 112, Oxford, was deeply honored on Aug. 16 by the presence of eight area women veterans, who were invited to receive their Women Veterans' Silver Commemorative Coins from Peter W. Ogden, Lt. Col. (Ret.), director of Maine Veterans' Services. Ogden gave a short history of the coin and talked about the meaning of each segment of the coin. The ladies were then individually called to be presented with a coin and certificate. Ogden was assisted by Jason Turgeon, Post 112 commander, and Joseph Bernard, Post 112 past-commander. Conflicts from World War Two to the present were included. Following the ceremony The Record Family Band played a concert in the park presented by the Oxford Veteran's War Memorial Committee.
