NORWAY — A yard sale benefit will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at the Guy E. Rowe Elementary School. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the "Journey for Joelle."
Jeff and Jenni Padgett of South Paris, teachers at Oxford Hills schools, are raising funds to adopt a second child, Joelle, from China. During the 2008 summer Olympics, the Padgetts headed to China to adopt their first daughter, Juliese.
According to Jenni Padgett, they are also feeling led to challenge the community about adoption awareness whether it be domestic, through the Department of Human Services or international. They are challenging others to consider helping others adopt.
In addition to the yard sale, pink Journey for Joelle bracelets are available for sale at the following locations: Child Health Center, Oxford; Richard Bader Physical Therapy, Norway; Knopp Chiropractic Health Center, Norway; Magic Hands Hair Salon, Oxford; South Paris Library, South Paris; Books-N-Things, Norway; and the SAD 17 District Office, Oxford.
Anyone wishing to sell bracelets for the family may call 743-6714. For more information about the family or to make a donation, visit www.padgettadoption.com.
