ANDOVER — Andover's 15th photo contest was held Aug. 7 in the Town Hall. There were 314 photos exhibited, 67 more than last year.
Entrants in the contest were from Albany, Andover, Bethel, Dixfield, Hanover, Mexico, Norridgewock, Peru, Roxbury, Rumford, Sabattus, Turner, and Upton. Submissions also came from Alaska, California, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Tennessee and Washington. More than 190 ribbons were awarded.
Major winners included:
Best of show, Linda Parham, Tennille, Ga.; landscape grand prize, Linda Parham; animal grand prize, Melenie Worcester, Rumford; portrait grand prize, Paula Lee, Andover; black and white grand prize, Joye Reies, Spanaway, Wash.; ages 11 to 16 grand prize, Savanna Patenaude, 14, Bethel.
Tim Akers of Andover, Kelly and Ray Lyons and Blanche Lyons of Mexico helped the judge collect and distribute photos to the proper tables. David Belanger of Andover helped the judge set the photos for viewing and Savanna Sessions of Andover typed the labels to identify photos. Akers also helped disassemble the exhibit.
