Scuba diving at the CMCC Junior Police Camp

Daryn Slover/Sun Journal
Cooper Schulz, left, and Joseph Zembas try on scuba-diving equipment during Junior Police Camp at Range Pond State Park in Poland on Thursday. Schulz and Zembas, both 11-year-olds from Lewiston, are two of the 25 kids taking the five-day police camp through Central Maine Community College and the Auburn Police Department. Ben Quinnell, a member of the APD Dive Team, demonstrated how each piece of dive equipment works and let the kids "surface dive" in shallow water. A tour of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro is scheduled for Friday.
